“I have taken Sandy Dawson’s (Sam) art classes for adults for a few years and participated in several workshops.Sam is a wonderful teacher and has worked with all ages, from preschool through adult. She naturally cultivates a warm, supportive learning environment. The students who have specific interests build upon their skills and learn new techniques as they improve. Other students experiment with different media. They begin to develop their strengths and preferences. No one is ever discouraged from trying something “new.”Sam’s comments are never criticisms. They are suggestions, instructional tools and explorations of strategies meant to inspire.”

“Everybody knows how difficult it is these days to find first rate quality in service and product. Frame Warehouse in Oak Park is an exception to that bleak reality. Different members of my family have used them for a wide variety of frame types and styles, and the results have been uniformly excellent. They seem to take the work personally, and it shows. “I enjoyed my visit to Urban Art Retreat. It was different than any other art gallery I have visited. It's an in-home gallery, so the setting is cozy. The proprietress, Dianna Long, led thought-provoking and interesting discussions about each piece. It was nice to have a guide through the pieces instead of just wandering and looking at them on my own. I enjoyed the conversations I had with the other patrons of the opening. Also, the owner's dogs were so cute and friendly!”

“Tom and Sheryl are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the art they sell. My wife and I scheduled to have three beautiful pieces shown in our house. They both spent the better part of an hour patiently displaying different potential locations to hang, making thoughtful suggestions along the way. In the end, we purchased two of the three, and they hung them for us, as well. It was an outstanding experience and we intend to continue patronizing the gallery when the fine art “itch” needs to be scratched. My wife and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.”

“It's Ramadan so I won't give them a negative review but I called both stores to see about if something was in stock, first it took forever to get her someone to answer the phone and once they did it was like they couldn't be bothered to check for me or let me know if something is coming back in.”
