“I can’t say enough about this place! We are always welcome by staff who’s willing to help and provide good customer service. I came across this place years ago when I was searching for a custom cake for my dog. The cakes are top notch and my dog enjoys all their pastries as well.”
“I’ve been coming to this pet store since they opened and Rob is the reason I keep coming back. This place is another bougie pet store with organic/holistic/vegan/etc pet supplies but Rob goes the extra mile for the customers. He is professional, extremely knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and inviting. Not only is he excellent at helping pet owners find what they need, and what they didn’t know they needed, he provides the type of customer service that keeps customers loyal. Honestly, he should be a regional manager or something that oversees how all locations interact with customers because they would probably see a significant bump in sales and repeat customers. It’s a nice store with nice products but doesn’t matter how nice your store is if you don’t know how to treat customers. You can just tell he is a good guy and I trust his advice about my four legged family member just as much as my Vet’s.”

“Linda was incredibly helpful. My dog was having some stomach issues and I was looking into some fiber and probiotic supplements. She took time to help explain what I was looking for and gave me an immense amount of insight and advice. She was super friendly, really made my experience enjoyable and made me feel better. I think I was in the store for 30 minutes just talking with her and picking her brain. I don't live in the area, but I would travel to this store just because of Linda.”
“All American-made pet food and products. Super clean store. Very friendly staff and there's a new puppy ambassador! My elderly dog eats Stella and Chewy and this is a great place to buy it. It's not a cheap product, but American Tails keeps the prices as reasonable as possible.
After all of the Chinese and foreign-manufactured pet food melamine and ingredient scares, I was happy to find a store that is conscientious about the ingredients in its food and what they stock. I appreciate products made in America, particularly when that means they're safer for my pet.
There's a big selection of different brands of food and lines within those brands. There are also natural treats, like bully sticks and duck heads (duck heads!!!). I worry about the grocery store treats that look like extruded plastic and must have a million additives and unnatural flavors.

“Highly recommend Ludwig’s if you have rabbits! It’s a great place to get hay and pellets. They are very reasonable priced. They have 25 pound bag of rabbit pellets which my rabbits love! The grass hay is great. Great quality. They even load it in your car. I’ve been to other feed stores and they are not as great as Ludwig’s.Friendly friendly staff!!”
“Picked up contacts next door and popped in here afterwards, and what a lovely surprise! This is the cutest shop ever and smells incredible since they bake everything in store. Picked up tons of yummy goodies for my two dogs! In addition to treats, there are lots of great pet food options that range from raw to kibble. Also has a dog wash which was spacious and clean. The owner was so kind and I even got to meet his two sweet dogs. I can't wait to come back!”
“An A+ for this store, I was there today and the guy at the cashier when I asked him if he could call someone because I needed help with some medicine for my dog, he immediately called so I could receive assistance, then a guy named Armando came and was super friendly, he took all the time necessary to explain to me about everything I was asking him, excellent worker, thanks to the attitude of these people of course I will gladly return to this store, I wish other stores had staff as cordial as here!!”

“Went in today for the first time it’s a beautiful store! We were shopping for a bird and left with two cocktails. They are so hands on with the birds they set us up pretty good with a cage, toys and food. All the birds were beautiful the cages were clean they all seemed very happy there while waiting for home!!”
“This particular PetSmart out in the western suburbs of Chicago, was HUGE! Though we'll layer out, it took me some time to find the reptile section of the store. I prefer PetSmart because of the large selection of food they carry for my box and water turtles. It's spring here in the Midwest, and my water turtles, a pair of Eastern Painted, are hungry EVERY day! My two box turtles get fed once a week, but that includes lettuce, fresh cut fruit and an entire can of turtle food. The checkout lady was prompt, and I was out the door in minutes. I like being given the option of making a donation to PetSmart charities, right on the credit card pad at checkout. If you're able, may I recommend you make a donation, too!”
“It was my first time coming here, they didn’t have the cat litter brand that I saw on their website. They told me I can order it online and have it shipped there to pick up. It’s kind of a hassle. Other than that, the employees were pleasant and helpful. I was able to pick up some Tidy Cats at a reasonable price.”
