Ong one of the worst organizations to work with. Terrible customer service and whatever you pay, they will make sure you pay more. They turned off our water and electricity because they thought we wouldn’t be there in the summer. By them turning off the water we couldn’t even flush the toilet or clean the apartment before we left. They’ve been exposed countless times as well, don’t make the same mistake we did, avoid them at all costs. They even emailed me, trying to threaten me to take my post down?.

The lease stated there was on site laundry but it was out of commission when I moved in with no estimate for when it will be fixed.

The University Group recently acquired the building I live in, and although it hasn’t been long, I wouldn’t recommend this company. There are other units with dogs, yet I felt targeted when they sent me a text message stating I had two large dogs and needed to pick up their feces or face a 10-day notice. My issue with this is that I don’t have two large dogs, just one, and my dog doesn’t relieve itself on the property. I have one large dog, one small. Not 2 large dogs. If others aren’t cleaning up after their dogs, is the University Group going to blame me and then try to serve me with a notice? Feces being in front of my unit doesn’t equate to it coming from my dogs, so you’re assuming and you are incorrect at that point. You think I’d want to walk out and step in feces? Absolutely not. If it was me I wouldn’t care to clear anything up but your incorrect so I am letting it be known. I find this unfair and concerning. Also people have visitors and their visitors bring their dogs, do you think they are cleaning up after their dogs?
Additionally, I emailed them about this issue weeks ago and have yet to receive a response. Another problem is that the trash hasn’t been emptied in two weeks. Whether they no longer have a contract with the garbage disposal company or something else is going on, the trash is overflowing and disgusting, with flies and maggots everywhere. It makes me hesitant to add more trash on top. It seems as though they don’t care, as nothing has been done about it. When the previous owners managed the building, this was never an issue.

I highly do not recommend signing with the university group. They do not care about their residents safety and concerns with the building. I personally work in student housing and know how everything works and I know that a fire command room is supposed to be locked off. As this room contains all important switches to the building and each individual room! They not only have this room unlocked to where anyone can enter it at any point in time but they also use it as a garbage room. It is absolutely disgusting and is a fire hazard! The whole apartment complex smells of garbage and filth simply because they don’t take care of the room itself. The let it over flow, and they don’t sanitize it. My closet door shares a wall with this room and I can’t even put my clothes in it. I have tried contacting them multiple times about this issue, The safety, the smell, the cleanliness. Everything! They refuse to fix it. I have tried spraying air fresheners, I have bought walls plug ins nothing makes the smell of rotten garbage go away. It is against city rules to even have the fire command room unlocked and still they don’t care. The safety of their residents doesn’t matter to the university group. You would think they would be bright enough to realize the importance of the room itself and everything there is access to, let alone not have it as a garbage room as well! Where they “clean it” twice a week. AKA they pick up the garbage off the ground and put it in the already over flowing garbage cans.

My window A/C unit was very old and went out over a particularly hot weekend. Maintenance got out to my apartment and replaced it the next business day, and the two workers were very kind! I have a pet chinchilla that cannot be in temperatures over 75°F, so I really appreciated how quickly they were able to resolve the issue. Good maintenance is hard to come by on campus, so I am super pleased with their work!

My rear windshield was smashed into last month right in front of my door on one of their properties. There were nine cameras that would have caught the incident in action right in front of my car. When I found out that following morning, I contacted maintenance over the phone and the police to have them investigate how it happened.
Long story short, they gave myself and the officer handling my case the runaround for an entire month, claiming that they don't have access to the security footage and they're waiting to review it. By the time they finally got a hold of the surveillance system, the footage had been deleted and there was no way of finding out what happened. Do you think they sent any apology or showed any remorse?

The same problem with every leasing company that manages properties near college campus, they don’t care about anything cuz students have to find places to live. I lived in Midtown Plaza, it was a pretty new building, i just don’t understand why would they use those old design dishwashers that can’t clean dishes, i can hear my next door chatting every night, the staff just constantly enter my home whenever they feel like to. It’s a new building but door knobs kept on failing. It’s just not a great experience living here.

Absolutely do not recommend living here. You cannot trust UG's replies, and the phone won't provide any help, nor will any letters receive an effective response. My package arrived on March 11th, was lost in the parcel room on March 13th (despite the room being monitored by cameras), and I reported it to the police immediately. Now, almost May, there is still no news about the package. The police have contacted UG to access the surveillance footage, but UG has not provided any assistance, only saying they need a police request to help (even though the police have already called twice to request assistance with the surveillance footage). If you do not want to deal with lost packages, do not live here.

Dear Chelsea:
I would like to express my deep thanks and gratitude for getting the terrace door fixed and working smoothly again. Mr. Frank painstakingly did a very good job. On the scale from 0 to 10 where ZERO is NOT SATISIFIED AT ALL and ten is HIGHLY SATISIFIED. Accordingly, I should give him 15 (FIFTEEN) OVER TEN.
Thanks again.
Wishes and regards

Avoid this company. I was told by a leasing agent that if I sign another lease under the University Group, my original lease would be canceled. However, he couldn't keep his words and hold me accountable still as the original leaseholder. The worst is that he wouldn't answer your emails if you tried to follow up with him regarding this issue. Trash management, deceitful and dishonest. And lastly, they all seem like hating their jobs.

Not recommended to live here. While there's a package room, packages still get stolen, and the surveillance cameras are essentially useless. Management doesn't assist with stolen packages. Additionally, parking spots provided by management are often taken by outsiders' cars, even if you pay for a spot monthly, leading to constant calls to towing companies to remove unauthorized vehicles, wasting time.

I have had a series of maintenance requests while staying in my apartment. So far, each one has been quickly fixed by friendly and helpful staff, whether it be big or small. I appreciate the consistent and high-quality service the maintenance team provided while leasing with University Group.
