Came in to browse and the rep asked if I was killing time. I was in the middle of swatching a lip color.
I didn't want to believe its race but I see comments here already say that. Its not her place to ask if I'm passing time. She should have asked to help. So I instead left. So rude.

I was told I need a prescription to purchase elta md sunscreen…by the same rep who also told me she hates elta md when I made a purchase here before months ago…you could’ve mentioned this online instead of wasting my time.
The energy is always rushed as if you want me out of your store. I don’t know what the weirdness is about but your store needs to be friendly and helpful to all people of all races.

Walked into the River North Chicago location to take a quick browse and was thoroughly impressed by Arendi and Abby's knowledgeable and professional approach to helping me decide on my skincare purchase. They were patient with me and eager to provide assistance. Lovely ladies with a great attitude and understanding of true customer service!

I just wanted to drop you a note to say how fantastic Kerry is at the River North store.
I live in the UK but stay and work in Chicago regularly for business. My wife loves your M61 products and so every time I come to Chicago I have a shopping list to stock up on!
Kerry is always so welcoming and ensures that I get everything I need, at the best prices and she always ensures I leave with a goodie bag of samples for my wife to try out your latest range of products.
During my last stay in January, I placed a last minute online order for delivery to the store for collection on the day I flew back to London - unfortunately there was a delivery glitch and the order was returned back to the depot which meant that there wasn't enough time to reschedule. I dropped into the store, explained my dilemma to Kerry and she sorted out everything for me, reproducing the order from her stock and also ensuring I received the online discounts. More importantly it meant that I was able to deliver my wife's favourite beauty products on my return home!
Kerry is a real asset for your company and her customer service is top-notch - I look forward to seeing her again soon on my next trip to Chicago.

Best shopping experience, both ladies today (Arendi and Abby) have been absolutely the most patient, knowledgeable, personable associates.
It's so challenging for me to find a perfume before a migraine gets going, and these 2 lovelies found me 3, in one go! So much value in having people that are kind, knowledgeable and want to help! I'll be back :)

I had a really good experience at this store today. With some free time in between meetings, I went in to browse and was greeted by the friendly staff. The lady who helped me, Julie mentioned immediately that they had a sales and gift offer going on and explained all the details. I told her that I was changing to clean beauty products and she recommended a lot of good items. I ended up staying a long time and slowly tried everything without pressure. All the sales ladies were sharing their experiences and advice so it was a great atmosphere. I have been shopping for products online these days but I realize that nothing beats the in person experience with helpful experts that know their stuff and trying the testers. Yes the items were mostly on the pricier side but there is a range and good skincare ingredients make a difference. I carefully selected a few products and met the threshold for free gifts and the impressive gift set including some suncare products that I'm keen to try. They also sent me home with sample products in tester jars and packets from the brands. Samples help me try everything out before I buy. Please give more samples, I have discovered new products because of them and made subsequent purchases. Although I have bought from the store before, I only signed up to be a member today. Julie, thank you for making my day and helping me revamp my skincare routine. I highly recommend this store and will be back again.

Wow this place is amazing! This was the first time I have been in a Bluemercury . I was greeted by a woman named Julie. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She went through all the options and brands they had to offer. They have a lot of top end brands. It reminds me of a bougie Sephora. I was able to try colors on, to see what worked the best. Very clean and fun store.

Hello, my experience was pretty bad today, I went in needing to buy some facial oil. After asking for help, I had to wait more than 10 minutes before my request was considered; then, it was impossible for the advisor to find the requested product in stock, so I asked her for help to direct me towards another product (I love discovering new skincare things :) ) ... impossible for her to advise me on alternatives... I am happy I saved money, but I still needed a facial oil...

Absolutely worst staff. I came into the store looking to buy the living proof hairspray and walked over to the section to grab it and checkout. It was sold out so I asked a sales associate if they had anymore. She said they didn't; I ask her what would be a similar product and she didn't know so asked a coworker and then proceeds to leave me with the coworker and scroll around on her phone. Her coworker replies that she wouldn't know cause she's never used the living proof version and then just walks away from me! Both ladies are now just hunched over on the counters scrolling on their phones. Head to Sephora or Nordstrom for products and superior customer service experience.

★☆☆☆☆"Bluemercury" by its namesake alone is giving into false advertising & misinformation a.k.a. "fake news"! Everyone knows that mercury is "Gray" - as indicated in the liquid metal element which is ALWAYS "Gray". Now to mention my 2nd fatalistic point & as seen by all Earthlings we can clearly state that even the well-known speedy planet body within our very own solar system: is definitively also coloured "Gray". I rest my case for ratings sake, but expect a class-action lawsuit coming to a courtroom near you "Bluemercury".

This truly is one nightmare of a store. I went in to buy one eyeshadow palette and because of their insistent need to upsell, I ended up being talked into things I didn’t want (my fault) and then getting a makeover. By the end the products she used weren’t even in stock so she ordered them. Let’s not even get into how she made me look like a clown so I had to go home and wipe off the makeup before going out for my date.Then for some reason the palettes were canceled on me. I went back in and they were reordered and sent to an old address of mine. I asked to cancel that order and was told I’d need to buy new products or else they’d charge me for the makeover. I did and asked how much it would be and was told $25 but the final bill was triple the amount. But again they couldn’t just sell me the product but asked me to try them onand upsell me more stuff. I had already dealt with the utter ineptitude for over 2 days so I just relented thinking at least they’re trying and it’s Thanksgiving and maybe buying some makeup wasn’t terrible.Then I find out the order was never cancelled and so I have to call customer service and UPS and say please send it back or send to my correct address and no one could do anything. Finally my credit card company dealt with it but I basically spent a week over Thanksgiving dealing with their complete ineptitude. All because they couldn’t just listen to me and sell me a eyeshadow palette in stock.Was trying to avoid Sephora and Ulta but now I will return to them bc I just can’t handle the lack of concern for time at Blue Mercury.
