The absolute worst. Do not rent from Budget or Avis. I prepaid my Budget rental, I have 'FastBreak' loyalty - I got numerous reminders and I got a text message that said I should go to Zone 3 and pick my car. Sounds good - but then I'm told by someone walking aimlessly in the car garage that you have to go stand in 'that' line. 'That line' is 3 hours long and getting longer because it was obvious there weren't cars (even though there were a lot of cars in the garage). Both Avis and Budget were feeding from the same line of renters (all FastBreak folks) with 2 people working the desk. In the parking lots, there is a fair number of people walking aimlessly around. To the Executive leadership team of Avis/Budget - you all are driving these two rental car companies to the ground. I have been a loyal customer for many years. No more and I urge others to take heed - Avis/Budget are the worst. The photo doesn't do justice, because the line snaked numerous times. I left with no car. I do expect a refund !

Rented a Tacoma from Budget at O Hare. Specifically told the agent when asked that I did not want a tollway transponder. I had my own. I got charged for one anyway. They have a screen for you to look at and initial at the end of the check in process and of course it would take forever to read it all so I trusted that I was getting what I asked for and breezed through it. I guess I should have spent 20 minutes reading all the fine print. I bought the fuel option but found out when I returned the car that they charged about four dollars a gallon when the local prices in Chicago were closer to three. Also got charged for over 20 gallons, which I doubt I got unless Tacomas only get 13 miles to the gallon these days. Never again.

Rented me a car with a flat tire. No joke, tire pressure started off low, attendant advised that it was fine and would rise as I drove, tire pressure proceeded to plummet almost immediately. Key even had a sticker on it that said “flat tire” and they still rented the vehicle out. Completely abysmal stuff. 0 stars

I’ve used Budget many times in the past and had decent experiences. However, when I arrived to pick up my car at O’Hare airport in Chicago on Dec. 23 there was only one agent working and I waited in line for 2.5 hours. Granted, it was the holidays but Budget should have had more than one person to handle the 20+ people waiting. I saw a number of people leave and go to other less crowded car rental lines. Revenue lost for Budget and in hindsight I should have done the same.

Watch out at ORD with budget. They sneak on the fuel option without your permission. I asked about this 3 times and was told no it’s not going to be charged. Just fuel up and bring receipts. I had the car 3 hours and what do you know… over 90 bucks charged for fuel. Spoke to a kind lady on the phone who is hopefully going to follow through with fixing the issue but will not use ORD location in the future! Also in order to “save paper” they won’t print your contact so you don’t know you’ve been had till you get your email an hour later…

The most ridiculous customer service I have ever experienced. Wait in line almost an hour before able to obtain my rental car. One person working and that one wasn’t in any hurry to help anyone. We all get to wait while this chic try’s to get an upgrade.

I rarely rent a car. The lady was not the friendliest and seemed bored with her job explaining and repeating when I did not understand. I know its a repetitive job, but she needs to be more understanding. When returning the car the guys were patient, and helpful when needing to know where to go to catch the shuttle since its not marked well in the garage. The car itself was a great, midsize car having excellent gas mileage.

Went to assigned vehicle after check-in. The vehicle was in an inaccessible area for returned cars that hadn't yet been cleaned. Manager retrieved it after about 30 minutes. Vehicle was full of trash from prior renter and filthy. Manager took the vehicle back an assured us he would get another ASAP. We waited over 45 minutes for the next vehicle which was also dirty and hadn't been cleaned! We took it anyway to avoid further delay. No offer by Budget to refund or otherwise adjust rate which was frankly exorbitant. I rented from Sixt at O'Hare last week, and the entire experience was outstanding. I won't use Budget again in the future. This wasn't my first lousy experience with them.

Super fast and convenient. Customer service was great. The initial vehicle that I was assigned wouldn’t connect to my phone so I came in and spoke to Ericka at the fast break counter. She was super nice. Before I spoke to her, I watched her deal with challenging customers with extreme courtesy and professionalism. Although inventory was low, she offered either mini vans or pickups to which I chose the pick up truck. I saw her when I dropped off my truck and she remembered that I was flying in to surprise my family and asked if I had a good time. For someone to not only sacrifice their holiday so others could enjoy theirs, but to be so nice is rare these days. Ericka should definitely be recognized for her excellent customer service!

Chicago’s car pickup was horrible, the customer service, correction… the person retrieving my information was horrible. It’s sad to say, but it’s true. Also, they had no customer service person to speak with. When I asked for a manager, she directly me upstairs to the second floor, where the office was closed. What a joke, or so she thought. It was a horrible experience. However, the drop off was very nice, the representative was nice and helpful. There was one very angry looking guy, who appeared to hate his job, that’s his problem, but that didn’t stop him from being rude to lots of customers trying to get into a car rental. He was rude and unkind. But the gentleman directing customers to the exit was helpful and nice. However, I’ll prefer to rent elsewhere, overall the vehicle was nice, but customer service was poor. Customer service matters to me. **** Oh, add the L-Toll road pass to your service, this is a must. I have no idea why it’s not automatically included in the rental. It appeared no matter which exiting or entering into the airport and car rental route there’s a toll. This information they do not tell you. For customers traveling out town, we need to know this, not rack up crazy fees after the car rental. They really should have the toll pass on the car rental as not a option, but it is. I asked if I needed it, the representative shrugged me, saying it’s my choice. Out-of-towners like myself, buy the L-Pass, avoid headaches and annoying after car rental fees.

The check out and return procedure was very simple. The car was wonderful. The rental rep did not know much about electric vehicles and could not answer my questions. They charged more on my credit card than the amount quoted.

I have used this facility three times. All three times, I ordered and was confirmed with a fast-break mystery car. I paid for it in full before I picked up the rental. Once out of three, my fast-break was ready to go, and I got in and drove off. I scanned my car out, and I was gone. The other two times, I had to get in line and wait for my paid-for car, and not once was I told sorry. It's not a big deal, but I usually want what I paid for. The return process is easy. You park your car and leave. There is only one slight problem with one of my returns: they charged me $100.00 for gas. Said I returned the car empty. I did not keep the receipt nor take a picture of the gas tank showing full. I did have my Visa card showing where, when, and how much gas I purchased within a 1/2 mile of the rental center. Then and only then did they reverse my charge. Lesson learned--a picture of the gas gauge and receipt for the gas purchased. One final point. The car on my last rental had a shimmy in the front end. This is caused by one to two things: bad tires and lousy CV or constant velocity joints. I told them about the problem, and it was almost laughable as the guy said yeah, I will make a note about it. We both know he didn't do a damn thing.

Pick up and drop off went fast and smoothly. Good and clear service. Well maintained and safe cars. We were allowed to choose the car we wanted to take with us, ranging from medium to very large.

This place charged me for a smoke smell in the vehicle, none of the people in my group smokes. They say I drove it over 7000 miles, I had it for 4 days and only used 1 tank of gas. The person I spoke with today could hardly speak English. Oh and they charged me $450. Don't use Budget!!! Danger!!!! Sucks I have to give them 1 star.

PLEASE DO NOT RENT HERE PLEASE! CHARGED $450 a month after returning the car!!! SAID I WAS SMOKING IN THE CAR. I am a devoted Christian and I do not drink or smoke, so I knew it was impossible and I was being scammed! I am not one to usually leave a review, however the experience was terrible, I booked and paid for the car through Orbits I like this method because it's a third party that has all my info and can act as a middle man in case of dispute. I paid for the car in advance, when I get there they ask to put another $250 hold on my card which was strange because I've never had to do that renting a car in the past. They said it was a deposit although I purchased the insurance, they also want to do a hold on prepay gas. I still said not a problem I'll return the tank full. I get there and there are barely any cars left I was allowed to take a truck due to lack of inventory. I return the truck prior to scheduled drop off time. I had an agent inspect the gas level and walk around the car with me to ensure there was no damage. He signed off that the car was the same and sent me my confirmation email right away. Two days later I get the $250 deposit taken off. Then one month later which was today! I get an alert from my bank that a transaction was pushed through for $450. I call and they said it was reported that the car had heavy smoke smell after I returned it although the truck had been rented 4 more times since I had it!!! I couldn't believe it! I almost went crazy especially getting the run around from customer service. By no means am I rich and $450 dollars being taken out my account with no prior correspondence was insane. I did not get a call, email, or letter saying I would be billed. Eventually I reach a nice young lady who was a manager on the customer service line and explained to her in tears what was going on. She did her research and said that something did not add up, if there was smoke smell I should have been charged right away and they would not have credit back the security deposit. I was told the truck was rented 4 more times since I had it. I told her I seen reviews with other people having this same issue being charged and they don't smoke. She investigated and said this same charge keeps happening at this location and it is very strange they would input that I smoked in car and charge over one month since inretuned the car. They are doing an investigation into this, and I already alerted my bank not to post the transaction! If they don't return my money I will be seeking legal action. PLEASE AVOID ALL OF THIS BY NOT RENTING OR GIVING THIS BUSINESS ANYBOF YOUR MONEY.
