I recently had an experience at Budget's Fastbreak section that I feel compelled to share. Unfortunately, the level of customer service was far below the standard one would expect from a reputable company like Budget. One staff member in particular was not only unprofessional in her demeanor but also preoccupied with her phone and smacking her gum, which I found to be highly unprofessional.Additionally, the vehicle reservation process was a source of significant frustration. Despite reserving a vehicle 10 days in advance and receiving a confirmation three days before pickup, I was provided a different vehicle upon arrival. This experience suggested a bait-and-switch tactic, raising serious concerns about Budget's reservation integrity.Combining the unprofessional staff behavior with the reservation issue made for an extremely disappointing experience. When choosing a car rental service, customers expect and deserve transparent communication and respectful service. Regrettably, my encounter with Budget at the Fastbreak section was lacking in both aspects.This review is intended to inform potential customers of my experience and to urge Budget to address these service issues. Improvement in staff professionalism and adherence to reservation commitments are crucial for maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.

I would strongly encourage anyone who hates sitting in a long line while looking at no long lines for any other car rental company to not rent a car through Budget. Literally been in this line for 2 hours. However Enterprise, Alamo and National no lines. So pay a few extra bucks and don't be cheap like me. Unless you have a thing for long lines and disappointment.

We were so very pleased with Budget car rental. When we came out of our hotel we had a flat tire. We call the emergency roadside and the gentleman came and changed the tire. We then went to the nearest budget location and turn the car in and got another rental. We were so happy with the service and how nice the people were and how they accommodated us. We would definitely recommend budget and we will certainly use budget again. Thank you to all the staff members in Chicago Midway airport and O'Hare airport for accommodating us

Here is the issue with rental car agencies: people very rarely write reviews when they have good experiences. As a result, the reviews skew overwhelmingly negative, which makes it difficult to use review quality as a factor when choosing a rental car company. I have not come to change that--we should not fool ourselves with the illusion that one person alone can effect such a change. This is also not a grandiose cause to which I wish to devote my heart and soul. But perhaps I can push the dial ever, ever so slightly in the right direction.And so I have come to tell you about my experience with Budget Car Rental at Chicago Midway Airport. It was perfectly, if not overwhelmingly, satisfactory. I arrived to pick up the car, and the representative informed me that they did not have the sedan I had reserved, but instead could choose from an electric vehicle or a pickup truck. Given my needs for this trip, I realized neither of these would be ideal. However, it then emerged that the representative had a "secret list" of other vehicles, and was able to give me a Jeep. Problem solved. The car was functional and clean, and the rental period went smoothly without any issues.That was that.I will say: people appear here on Yelp and on Google and on TripAdvisor to complain about The Great Scam at this (and other) car rental locations. "They made me pay for gas up front!" or "They cheated me by making me buy really expensive insurance!" There is a simple solution: know what you are doing and read the terms and conditions. It's that simple. Really. I had no mysterious or unexpected charges, nor should anyone else.If you need to rent a car at Chicago Midway Airport, this Budget is a perfectly fine option.

Usually when I come into Midway, my car is never ready and when you sign up for Fastbreak that's what you're looking for. They finally did it so I was very happy with my rental experience this time. Always take pics before you drive off! Just in case.

Let 1st start off by saying that the staff are super friendly and helpful. But the company does not do a good job making sure the store has cars in stock and ready for customers to pick up. We waited over 3 hours to get a car on Friday afternoon. This is an airport!!! It does not close and it always has people coming! The staff suffers due to the fact that the company doesn’t accommodate the online reservations made by customers! This made me so upset! But the staff were amazing.

Omg, worst service ever. Waiting line was for two hours. But only 2 were at the counter and they were not kind , so rude. Don’t expect you get what you reserved. They said they don’t have cars. Don’t ever come here, don’t make a reservation here or from Cosco.Update: after 2 hours waiting, they said they no car at all. It is all overbooked. 100 people is still in the line.Don’t use Budget ever

Numerous vehicles displayed maintenance required on the dash. Service is that of the DMV. Staff is hardly professional. Vehicles not cleaned very well in comparison to other rental companies.

We rented a car from Budget online through Frontier airlines. Once we arrived at the rental area, there was a line of people about 200 feet long. Supposedly there had been a power outage and the system was down, so that was the excuse given to us. There were NO CARS to rent! they were waiting for people to bring their rentals back to try and keep up with the demand. Well, it wasn't even close to filling the need for rentals! We booked the rental the day before because it was a last minute trip due to a death in the family. We waited in line for three hours, being told the same reason over and over again. So, luckily, a man from Rent-A-Wreck came in and said that he had cars in his lot! We jumped in his van with about 6 other people, and within 20 minutes we drove away with a car! We will NEVER rent a car from Budget or Avis again! Also, never rent a car through a 3rd party! They get their commission without even knowing or caring if a car is available! What a racket! What a nightmare!

Arrived at Midway at 0900 October 6 with a reservation through Costco starting at 0930 that evening. There were about 40 people in line and after a long wait we were told that they only had four cars available. They were sorry and we could Uber to O'Hare and there were cars there. They would pay for the Uber. Don't rent cars from Costco Travel!

After we landed and took a bus to the car rental facility, it took over 2 hours to finally get processed. There was only 1 person and during this ordeal, she took a break, leaving a large line that went out the door. We then went to the car location, only to find only 1 person taking people to their car rental, and she disappeared. We finally got the car, BUT didn't get the fast pass that we paid for. On the day we were to return the car, the key fob battery died on us. At this point we didn't know if it was the car battery of the key fob. We called their road service number, only to get transferred back and forth over 6 times, only to get hung up on. We had to call our own road side assistance who promptly help us. We ended up footing the bill to replace the key fob battery. Once we were on the road again, I noticed that the car was way overdue for service. If the would have serviced the car this might not have happened. Needless to say we will never use Budget OR Avis (same parent company) again.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Walked in to the Cleveland airport rental place and saw one guy working the Budget Car Rental counter. He had at least twenty plus customers and no help. Two guys were coming back and forth because they had no car for them. A guy from Avis finally came over to help, but still the service was slow as a snail in the winter. We also had our car booked and paid for already but still had to wait in the line that was all the way out the door. Very frustrating and extremely unpleasant. There was also no seating for people waiting to sit down and relax. My feet are on fire standing here right now. Never again going to rent from them. Thanks!!

Rented a car at Hertz a week before without problems. Then try to rent budget and guess what! They didn't accept my driver's license! Just because the of reader system ! I prepaid and ask for refund a the answer was no. Obviously time was up for pick up. Called my credit card and they call their "direct number" and nobody answered. At the end the lady at the front desk help us. But Never again budget.

I have rented from the Chicago Midway facility around the same time every year for the past 4 years. 3 out of the 4 years I have been charged for fuel even though I have refueled the vehicle. I keep the receipt and I always take a photo of the fuel gauge (with the rental car garage visible in part of the background for verification). I wanted a receipt at drop off this time but there was no one around. There was also no one in the customer service booth in the garage (this was around 6:15 a.m. on drop-off day). I have to call customer support again to get the charges for fuel removed. I feel as though they do this purposely hoping either (1) people won't notice or (2) business travelers may not care. For me it is a personal trip so the additional 60+ dollars comes out of my pocket and does not go on an expense report for reimbursement. If I am properly reimbursed I will update this review, otherwise buyer beware.

The rental car we were given was extremely nice and clean, we were satisfied with that aspect of our experience. However, we paid extra to use one of the company's infant seats so we didn't have to worry about ours getting beat up while flying. When we got there, the only infant car seat option we had was one that was very outdated, expired, and smelled like cigarette smoke. I did not feel safe having my baby in it. I understand you won't get a top of the line car seat when renting, but at the bare minimum I expected one that was NOT expired and safe for my baby to travel in.
