I have purchased and sold 2 homes through FNCU Rockford. Both sales and purchases were done with the help of Lindsey Swanson. Jonathon at the Rockford office was wonderful to work with when I applied for a LOC. There were issues with an old LOC that had been paid off but papers were not filed. He was so patient and helpful in getting this taken care of,. And it was a great day when we signed the papers for our FNCU line of credit. He really went over and above for me.

I absolutely love First Northern Credit Union. Every experience I have had with this credit union and its personnel has been professional, with positive outcomes for my financial needs. I’ve been banking here for over a decade, and the service is very mediocre. It depends on who you work with. I would recommend banking somewhere that stays open later than 4:30. I got a new debit card, and even though I activated it by phone, they locked it and now I am stuck with no money and no customer service. Half the time, the agents are rude.

I've been a member since 2008 and have had zero issues. I don't do too much banking; sometimes mobile deposits, internal/external transfers, but that's about it. I have a debit card. Honestly, I've been quite pleased as a member. I've banked with larger companies and I don't get the same level of service, just more fees and red-tape.

From the beginning they have been rude, dismissive, unhelpful, and duplicitous. I’ve only stayed because it’s so inconvenient to pull out and I’m finally changing that. Find any other bank, y’all.

FNCU is the best. Great customer service and better loan rates than a bank. I’ve been a member for years and we recently financed our first house through their mortgage department. Definitely recommend them!

I bank with Kane County Teachers Credit Union (CU). There's only 3 locations, maybe 4 now, all located in the suburbs. This is their sister CU for transactions needed far from home base. Very convenient and great customer service. You'll need your State ID or DL to check in with security in the main lobby then you will be escorted to the elevator and they will badge you up to the 28th floor. It's a five to seven minute walk from my gig.
