I suggest you ignore the review from “pete” — that review is unjust and seems prejudiced. this is a great non profit book store where all proceeds go to local donation. impressive selection of books, common sense and fair pricing!! great vibe inside and friendly staff.

Great space with kind people who will help you find what you're looking for. I recently found two obscure religious texts that have already contributed greatly to my practice in temple.
Heirloom Books was founded by the late Chelsea Rectanus. Chelsea, a Northwestern University graduate and talented writer, had the ambition of creating a northside Chicago institution that cherishes curiosity, diversity, and community.
She has succeeded - Heirloom Books is one of the most popular used bookshops in Chicago. Since her passing, Chelsea's family, the Eriks (Badger & Graff), and a handful of her friends have kept the institution alive. In January 2022 Heirloom incorporated as a not-for-profit.
Beyond selling used books, Heirloom Books also hosts literary and political events. Friends of the bookstore frequently stop by to chat. You are welcome, too. Give us a call or pay us a visit to find the perfect used book for you.
