This venue always appear to be overcrowded no matter who’s playing. Get ready to be packed in like a sardine in a can and good luck trying to get a drink here while still maintaining your spot. Still, they do attract some incredible artists like Souls of Mischief and most recently, Danny Brown.

No matter what the event is, the Metro is always a great venue.Note to Metro staff: sold-out shows need to have the air conditioning on even when it is cold outside and before people arrive. Otherwise, your hvac system can not keep up. My attention should be on the show, not worrying about passing out and staying hydrated with water.Staff should not be so forceful telling people to leave when the stairs are so packed. Some of us can remember E2 nightclub. Safety should always be a priority.

I went to a concert here for a band I was very excited for. Unfortunately the venue was a big disappointment.Overall this is a mid size venue that lacks all of the basic things you get at similar places (thinking of Thalia Hall or Lincoln Hall). More specifics listed below.1- Venue was overcrowded. Had to watch most of the concert from the hallway.2- There’s no AC in the building. They have probably a dozen fans running which is not only uncomfortable but noisy if you are near one3- There’s only two restrooms (one men’s and one women’s), they are on separate floors, and neither is on the main floor. Men’s room has one sink down a narrow passage in the restroom.4- It is steps away from Wrigley so there’s no where nearby that you can park at. We ended up paying $30 to park across the street.
