Rodeway Inn Chicago-Evanston offers basic and affordable accommodations in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms feature a unique layout with four rooms sectioned off with outside doors, providing privacy and a comfortable space. Guests appreciate the clean rooms, with some noting the great tile and shower in the bathrooms. The hotel provides good value for the price, especially for travelers using hotel points, though some minor issues like a towel rack coming out of the wall have been mentioned. The staff includes helpful and knowledgeable individuals, such as a staff member named Barbara, who is praised for her kindness and troubleshooting skills. However, experiences with the staff vary; some guests found the staff to be rude and unfriendly, with difficulties in handling deposits and reservations. The location is convenient, with stores, restaurants, and a shopping center nearby. Public transportation options are accessible, with a bus stop just two streets away connecting to downtown Chicago and multiple L lines, including O'Hare and Forest Park. The neighborhood is walkable, suitable for biking and walking, with some residents seen going to work. There is no breakfast service at the hotel. Overall, Rodeway Inn Chicago-Evanston is a budget-friendly choice with mixed reviews on service but a good location for exploring the city.
Barbara was fantastic! She is really knowledgeable about her job and seemed to be able to troubleshoot anything. I was actually really surprised that she wasn't the one that was the manager.
