I don't often ever leave 1 star reviews, but I do feel it's warranted here.Like many people, I bank with US Bank and have done so for almost 10 years, and like many chicagoans, I do not drive, and I work during banking hours. There are only 2 locations in Chicago that I have reasonable access to, while still having to go inconveniently out of my way. I work a tipped job, and like many, I don't like having loose cash on me, so I like to deposit my tips after working hours, which is usually when the banks are closed. This location is closest to work, and for as long as I can remember ATM access is not available at this location due to the card reader not working. Some time ago the sign indicating the reader was broken had been removed, so I assumed it was working again. To my surprise it is nonfunctional, and I am yet again, denied banking access because the card reader lock does not work. This being a near constant issue, in addition to dwindling locations in the Northern City area of Chicago make me heavily consider closing my account and moving to a competing bank company.That lock needs to be fixed so loyal customers can make deposits regularly outside of bankjng hours.

Extremely disorganized. Worst customer service. Even when I get a notification email saying that I have an appointment (both call and in person), they never seem to remember anything. When they say they call, they never do. When I make an appointment, they can’t remember. I’m never going back to this branch. The only nice thing about this location is the look of the building but that’s it.

The physical appearance of this branch located on Clark/Belmont is quite impressive, but the customer service is horrible. I would not recommend this branch. I arrived at the bank 10 mins before closing to make a single $400 cashier’s check deposit which should have taken less than 5 mins. The staff seemed mainly interested in leaving for the day than serving me, a business customer. I attempted to make a rent deposit that was “paid to the order of” the apartment community name and not the owner’s entity name which appears on the bank account. [It’s very common that residents make their checks/money orders out to the name of the apartment community.] I was told by the teller that there is a “possibility” that the resident’s bank would not honor the casher’s check because it wasn’t made out to the correct owner entity. She asked her manager for support. I explained to both that we have never had an issue before, and that if they Google the name of the organization, they will find them to be the same entity. The teller nor the Branch Manager wanted to go the extra mile. I was sent away and told to have the resident get another cashier’s check. Even after explaining the demographics of the community our non-profit serves (who may have difficulty taking a cashiers check back to their bank), I was told they didn’t feel comfortable depositing the cashier’s check. Frustrated and not in the mood to argue,I left, and they let a business customer of many years, leave the branch extremely upset. When I got back to the office I looked at previous deposits we’ve made that were “Paid to the Order of“ the community name, and we have never had any of those checks returned.

The design & layout of the branch is second to none. The modern, clean layout, sliding glass office doors, beautiful meeting room and friendly staff makes this location one of the most inviting bank branches I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. All banks should aspire to have branches as modern and inviting as this location.Rick Balkam also stands out as an exceptional member of the team here. Very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to assist is clients.

They are not trutful about their offers, just to get you in but then claim "we forgot to tell you" and their offers don't come true. I would stay away from these bank because they do not honor their offers. Stay away bad experience, I will Close my account.

It's really, really nice to have a USBank branch within walking distance. Plus, the staff is friendly and very helpful.

Finally a new branch, but they don't do financial services like coin counting? What kind of backwards bank spends thousands on fancy glass wall panels and mini-fridges but doesn't bother to get the financial basics for a bank branch?
