As a woman of color, my experiences with Ulta have historically been hit or miss—ranging from indifferent to outright unpleasant. So when I say that Jackie’s customer service completely exceeded my expectations, I mean it from the heart.
While shopping for a fragrance that was out of stock (and trying to recreate a very specific gifted scent), Jackie was attentive, patient, agile, and incredibly kind. She took her time with me—and I was not an easy customer that day—yet she remained considerate and genuinely invested in helping me find what I needed.
I’ve never felt so well-served by anyone at this brand. Her energy felt interpersonal, not performative. Jackie single-handedly redeemed years of less-than-favorable shopping experiences I’ve had in Ulta stores.
She deserves recognition and, frankly, a promotion. I’ll be returning because of her. Promote my girl !!

Darion went over and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. I had a girlfriend that recommended several products and Darion walked me around the store and found each item that I needed and recommended colors to me as well. Highly recommend the store. It was well stocked as well.

Had a haircut and hair color appointment with Matthew. Very happy with the result. Haircut and color looked great. Matthew was kind and did a great job. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good hair service.

Ok Ok! This Ulta Location is by far the best location. As soon as u walk in they great u like a family member and not a stranger. I love Ulta's pops of color in the store. The aroma's from Moistures, Face cream, serums, and frangances, colognes will have u everytime wanting to buy the entire store. The staff goes out of there way to give you excellent customer service. Overall if u find yourself having to choose from Sephora or Ulta by Lincoln Park check out Ulta first. I will be back soon I enjoy the face cream, lotions, body scrubs and serums.

The moment I walked in the door, I was greeted kindly and offered assistance. The greeting was not overbearing whatsoever and at the same time made me feel serviced which I struggle to find elsewhere. While browsing, I was approached I by Cathie, the General Manager of the store... her energy was very pure and contagious. She was able to quickly help point me in the right direction and give a brief description for each of the products I was seeking as well as a few alternatives she personally suggested (I went with the suggestions). While checking out, I was helped by Darion. Our interaction was great and the over-all process was smooth. Quick, efficient, and friendly service. Cannot beat it. 11/10 would recommend.

There was a guy working here today with such a rude attitude. I started to ask a question about Sol De Janeiro and before I could even finish my question he cut me off and said “no”. Even my kids were like wow that guy was so rude. Get over yourself dude

Ok so your girl over here has NEVER had foundation nor concealer on, but since my graduation is coming up I really wanted to get something for my special day. But I literally did not know where to begin.
I was very hesitant to come after reading several of the reviews on here, but it was one of my only options at the time so I decided to try my luck. When I walked in, I was kind of hoping someone would approach me because I am SUPER shy & introverted. But no one did so i decided to walk around for a bit, and then boom — Jackie comes in.
Jackie asked if I was doing okay and giiirl, when I tell you i was NERVOUS 😭 Jackie was super patient with me, and immediately got so happy about my graduation and made it OUR mission (not just mine) to find a good shade & brand of foundation & concealer. She took the time to explain different formulas and how they may sit on my skin type. She shade matched me SO quick and I was really shocked at how the foundations she picked for me looked on my face (in a good way!). I pointed out to her how i didn’t like the way some blemish areas were still showing, but told her that I’m hesitant on getting something full coverage. She was like “let’s try a color corrector” and that made SUCH a difference, it was exactly how I wanted it to look 🥹💕
Jackie was so open and friendly that I began to open up and ask her about other products like blush, bronzer, and highlights. Mind you, Jackie’s makeup was ON POINT so i literally knew I was talking to the right gal. I wear the hijab so she even mentioned that and gave me tips on location of placement of things like blush based on that.
I knew the moment I began talking with Jackie that she genuinely cared about my goals for products, and wasn’t trying to sell me the new or the most expensive thing. She was a girl helping another girl out, and she went above & beyond. We got excited together and etc.
I left feeling so, so happy & fulfilled. Jackie asked me to come back & show her my graduation pictures with the products I bought that day, and I definitely plan on coming back to do just that.

I went to the Salon to get my hair done for a formal hair style. The original person called out that day. Thank god for the stylist that was able to cover for her. I loved her energy and how sweet she was. I was in a rush but it turned out okay. Not the vision that I was going for but for the stylist being accommodating and just amazing I was happy with it. Props to her for knowing how to roll with the punches that day.

Went to this Ulta right after striking out at the Sephora around the corner, and it was a much more pleasant shopping experience. The cashier Kiera had great energy and was very helpful!

After a frustrating experience at Sephora that left me feeling upset and overlooked, Kathie and Odi at Ulta completely turned my day around. They were kind, attentive, and made sure their presence was felt in the big store—something I truly appreciated.
Their warmth and helpfulness reminded me why I typically choose Ulta over Sephora. The difference in customer service was night and day. Kathie and Odi went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience, and because of them, Ulta will continue to be my go-to for all my beauty needs.
Thank you both for your kindness! It truly made all the difference.

If I could give 10 stars to the Ulta Beauty location at 1000 1000 W North Ave St., I would. I purchased a makeup class for my 13-year-old and her friend a few months back. The staff knew this was the girl's first time learning about makeup from the professionals. They took time, engaged with them, explained a ton about makeup, did their makeup, talked to them, and made them feel special. Our girls had so much fun! So, when we found out Ulta was offering a hair class, we signed the girls, and again, it was such a fantastic experience for all four girls. We can't thank everyone enough for working with our girls and taking the time to make them feel pretty and special. Thank you to everyone, and a special thank you to the manager, Cathie (I sure hope I spelled her name correctly).

5 minute grace period for beauty appointments. Wish healthcare was like that. I am in the wrong line of work. Showed up 5 minutes late and was able to be seen, but the situation was very uncomfortable as if I've commited a crime instead of being a paying long time customer. Things happen but I can go elsewhere where there is a little more respect and grace.
