Somehow they call themselves a UPS store but now want to charge you additional fees to drop off UPS pre-paid labels! What scammers. Save yourself the extra fees and use the UPS Dropbox around the corner in the pedway.

The employees at this location have always been great but unfortunately, this store now charges a $5 drop-off fee for non-Amazon packages.

It was a great and convenient option. Staff are helpful, even though it gets crowded close to their closing time.Unfortunately, a few months ago this store started charging for any non-Amazon drop-off, labeled or not. I don’t really consider the location a UPS store anymore. Pity.I would like to see a public disclosure of why extra charges have been imposed on packages. To my understanding this is not a policy enforced by UPS stores across the city. I see responses from store asking people to contact them directly for assistance. Whatever information you’d like to share, I would like to see shared publicly.

Saw mixed reviews and want to share my experience. I brought multiple Amazon returns (with QR codes) and was not charged for processing of any of them. Once I found the location, which is downstairs in the Swissotel, there was no line and they got me in and out very quickly. I inquired what all they can do with no surcharge and I was told that Amazon QR Code returns (not sure about Amazon prepackaged/labeled), Happy returns (yes, that's a company), and USPS prepackaged/labeled packages are all accepted free of charge. Hope that may save someone a trip or an unexpected surcharge.

They started charging a $5 fee for package drop offs. I had a pre-paid UPS label, and they wanted to charge an additional $5 fee! They are the only UPS store around here, so they're taking advantage of people who don't want to travel to other UPS locations to drop off their packages. They told me the only solution to avoid the fee was to "drop it at a UPS drop box" or another UPS store. But I'm at a UPS store, with a UPS label? What the heck?

I needed to send an international letter. It took 10 minutes even to obtain the answer to how to do it and what kind of stamps I needed. Even after it, I was told they don't have stamps. Company whose main job is shipping don't have stamps. Is this a joke?

Very nice staff, helped me out quickly when I emailed them after store hours. Needed to get my package back and they really helped. Also very good to know they offered tape for my box which some places will then tuen me away if it’s not packaged before you get there! So thank you to this store

It was fast, quick, and overall a positive experience. It’s in a great location downtown, especially those who work off Michigan Ave.from leaving my desk, to printing the labels at the store, shipping and walking back took 30 minutes.Super fast service and everyone who works there is super sweet!

Such a friendly staff. The negative comments are usually from people not wanting to pay pre-labeled drop off fee. Convenient location and would definitely recommend.

Independently owned UPS store. They charge an additional $5 drop off fee per package.

“Independently owned” so you’ll be charged for any returns, even if the company promised free returns

I was charged a drop off fee of $5 when UPS policy is all drop offs are free.

Please note that this store charges $5 for all non-Amazon drop offs. This fee does not include any services (it does not include any materials, packaging or labelling) and is not an overweight fee. It's like paying for air, only less refreshing. They won't tell you that this fee is their own little brainchild, a masterpiece of financial creativity. Meanwhile, in the grand world of UPS, this is their exclusive rule. They must be the envy of other UPS sites. But don't despair, my frugal friends! If you want a free drop off you can check the UPS website for UPS points and drop boxes, which are completely free, and you won't be asked for additional charge that isn't posted in the shop and you don't know what it is. Sure, businesses can set their own prices, but let's not forget that customers have a right to some transparency, too. I'm leaving this comment here just in the hope that those who don't want to be asked for extra fees get the information and avoid a wasted trip.

Decent enough for Amazon drop offs but now they are charging 5 dollars for non Amazon drop offs. I contacted the customer service and because they are located in a hotel they’re privately owned they can do that. Won’t do anything but Amazon drop offs there. Someone told me there are UPS Drop Boxes in the attached office buildings (like 225 N Michigan) and I will drop stuff there as it’s convenient for things like the Nespresso program.l and I won’t be charged 5 dollars for it.
