Not sure how the supervisor here was hired, much less made a supervisor/manager. On 2/21/2024, I was told to wait for a supervisor at the third window because my visit had to do with my drivers license delivery. I had been waiting for a bit, checked the time on my phone and waited another literal 10 minutes before asking the woman working if there was a supervisor available right now or if i should come back. She went and retrieved him, but when he poked his head out there was no “hi sorry for the wait” no “how can i help?”, just immediately “what’s the issue?”. I told him i received a letter from SOS saying my DL was returned by USPS and he immediately brushed me off saying ask SOS because the address is invalid, and then even saying “oh you’re 60660, that’s not us that’s Roger’s park” which, like, fine. SOS issued my DL and I regularly get mail to my apartment and had utility bills with me so i KNOW it’s not an SOS/address verification issue. I encouraged him to read the letter but it was obvious that he didn’t want to help so i stated that he was unhelpful, took my form back and he raised his voice at me across the lobby as I walked out.It took all of 4 minutes in the Roger’s Park location for them to let me know that if the name isn’t on the mailbox or if the mailbox is open, they won’t deliver an ID or DL because it’s at risk for identity theft.Uptown Supervisor’s resolution was for me to go to SOS but whhyyyy would i go there for them to tell me it’s a USPS issue? The attitude, inefficiency and apparent lack of care at this location is atrocious and I’m glad they’re not my local post office.

One is generous.I have always experienced horrendous wait times and unprofessional service here.Today broke me, however, a package I sent weeks ago was returned to me for insufficient postage. I shipped it directly from the post office. I repeat: I came to this location waited for 20+ mins answered their standard questions and paid for postage for it to be shipped back to me…because they totaled it wrong ??Maybe if the clerk paused from her personal phone call she could’ve actually shipped it with the proper postage.I’m just flummoxed and frustrated that I have to go back due to their own error. HonestlyImpressive how little this location seems to care about providing any postal service at all.

I can't stress enough how terrible this place is. From the front desk staff eating sunflower seeds and spitting it in a cup while talking, to resolutions of missing mail. Our mail carrier also works out of this location and have had packages go missing, bank card getting stolen, etc. Lobby looks like a total mess, always garbage everywhere, missing flat rate boxes, no envelopes, no marked waiting line. It is literally the worst place imaginable.

Three clerks working but only one window open at a time. They spent most of their time talking to each other behind the windows while there was a big line waiting for “service.” When they did finally get to us, they were incredibly rude. All I needed was a book of stamps. It must be great to have a government job where nobody cares how rude you are or how well you perform your job. This is the worst post office that I’ve ever visited.

I hate to contribute to the negative reviews, because I try to be impartial as possible, but this location truly leaves a lot to be desired. There is no receipt for a pre-printed label (I guess that’s USPS’s problem, as a whole— maybe it’s not solely a location-issue), the workers are admittedly nice, but either this place is always short-staffed, or there are too many packages to sort through.I am the customer who has my package all ready to go, I print the shipping label and apply it appropriately to the package, and I even follow the tracking number and contact the respected parties. However, I had to e-mail, tweet, and call various department from USPS just to get my money back for packages that cost nearly $300.I will be trying the Evanston location and see if there’s a difference.

Waited in the lobby for almost 15 minutes before I even saw a person. The kiosk does not work to do your own mailing. A man in a wheelchair was called forward and then they ignored him. Worst customer service I have witnessed at a post office.

The waits are really long. Even though I see a lot of staff around, only one person helping out the customers. The line got super long and still no assistance was given. Maybe try another location if you're in a rush. I changed my rating to a 3 because the person who did help me was efficient and nice

I received a notice that said my package was delivered and there wasn't anything in my mailbox I call the post office and I haven't heard anything back from them and I am still paying for the package. Very unprofessional!

Though we had a slight bit of confusion at first (and was almost told to call and come back another day), I was able to complete my identity verification for a change of address. The historic building with the giant New Deal era statues is iconic.

This particular location is a fantastic case study in why the US Postal Service continues to lose billions. Before I go further, I have to say that there are some really great employees at Uptown like Ms. Alison, Mr. Choi, and Carson but unfortunately they are overshadowed by many careless and unaccountable employees. I think its important for employees and customers to be respectful to each other and I can see where it is frustrating to have to work with the public, but I think some of the training that would help is conflict resolve and communication. Yes, customers can be awful...but careless employees can be awful too. Ultimately the majority of people just want to be acknowledged and empathized with, whatever side of the counter you are on. Starting there can really go a long way.

We used to have two fantastic mail carriers who delivered in our neighborhood. Now, we have a careless group who are usually on their phones while delivering. Mail ends up at different addresses, our boxes are left partially open at times. Packages get lost. And sadly, there doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it. You can run a track for a missing item, you can file a claim... doesn't change the poor quality of service and the carless attitudes of the staff. Hopefully someone can get it in order, cuz its embarrassingly bad. But... why would the staff care? They're still getting their pension, right?

Slow but reliable! Compliment the staff for quicker service and they will remember you next time.
