“I came in today because on my trip up from Florida my brakes started making noises. This was the only place open on a Saturday afternoon that didn't quote me a minimum of $400 for front pads and rotors. The lady at the front desk was super sweet, the mechanic was fast and efficient and they were kind knowing my situation and that I was an out of towner. She even offered a work around so it would cost a little less!! Great service on both the customer service end and the mechanical end. I would definitely recommend this mom and pop shop!!”

I don’t normally write reviews this long, but the team at Firestone earned every single word.
I drove over 3 hours from Rockford to Decatur for work, and on the drive down my brakes completely locked up. It was one of the most terrifying experiences I’ve ever had behind the wheel. My car had been having brake issues for a while, but nothing even remotely close to what happened that morning. I genuinely don’t know what could have happened if it had gotten any worse.
I dropped my car off Tuesday evening and asked them to run an ABS diagnostic. By Wednesday they had diagnosed the brake vacuum pump, but what everyone thought would be a straightforward repair quickly turned into something much bigger. As they began taking everything apart, one issue led to another. It became a major repair, and every time they solved one problem, another one appeared.
This is where Tyrone, Ryan, Chase, James, and the entire crew absolutely blew me away.
Instead of taking shortcuts or giving up when things became difficult, they tackled every obstacle head-on. They stayed in constant communication with me throughout the entire process, explaining everything in a way I could actually understand. They never made me feel like “just another customer.” They treated my vehicle like it was their own and genuinely cared about getting me back on the road safely.
Friday was supposed to be my day to leave after work and make the long 3-hour drive back home. Tyrone knew how important it was for me to get home before the holiday weekend. When parts became impossible to find, he didn’t just throw his hands up and tell me to wait until next week. He went above and beyond, even spending his own money to get the parts needed because suppliers didn’t have exactly what was required.
As if that wasn’t enough, Tyrone and his team stayed over TWO HOURS past closing on a Friday evening before the Fourth of July holiday just to make sure my car was finished and safe to drive. They sacrificed time with their own families so I wouldn’t be stranded for several more days waiting on my vehicle.
That kind of dedication is almost impossible to find anymore.
When I finally picked up my car, Tyrone took even more time to walk me through everything they had done, making sure I fully understood the repairs and why they were necessary. There was never any pressure, no confusion, and no cutting corners—just honesty, professionalism, and genuine care.
I made the entire 3-hour drive home with complete confidence in my brakes for the first time in a long time, and that peace of mind is priceless.
To Tyrone, Ryan, Chase, James, and everyone involved—thank you. Thank you for your professionalism, your patience, your communication, your hard work, and most importantly for making my safety your priority.

“Has a great selection of items for farm and home. Clothing selection is quite large, even for babies and toddlers. Our favorite is the John Deere selection for the little ones. My personal favorite is the selection of Dewalt tools which are my favorite battery powered tools. I purchased a generator on this trip which the staff was helpful in choosing the best one for home emergencies and to run my camper. The only issue I had was the inventory management was lacking in the number and location of the products.”
