I was sending a package to my husband overseas. While helping me, the postal employee at this location felt compelled to tell me that our 15 years of work in developing countries was “cushy” and that it was our line of work that was “holding the people down.” What should he have said? “Thank you for your service.” And not a word more.

This is the worst post office I've ever been to. First time I shipped a package. It was addressed to illinois, and somehow ended up in Australia. Then the second package i shipped, the guy at the counter lost the package 600 dollar item. When confronted him he didn't even care to help or anything..

Every day I'm coming after work. Pick up my mail inside the Post Office. Homeless people drinking alcohol. Can you guys do something with this? And not let them go inside the Post Office. It's scared to go there.

Came here today 9/4/2024 to drop off my package no one in the front desk but I heard a lady talking on the phone I say hello and no one else said anything I say hello again because I heard hers talking on the phone in the back. Finally she came out didn’t even say sorry or anything just took my package and scanned them and throw them in the carts. I just hate coming to this post office but it’s just 2 min from my place. They definitely need someone more professional and not being rude to customers. After she scanned my packages didn’t even say thank you just keep talking on the phone! Very very rude

Not typically motivated enough to leave reviews like this but here we go:
Have been a Des Plaines resident for the last several years and used this place around 10 times. Aside from one positive visit, every other time has been spent talking to a moody employee, if anyone is present to begin with. Showed up today 30 minutes after the posted opening time, and was able to walk into the building, but the front desk was still locked up with nobody around. There also isn’t a dedicated drop for priority packages, so you typically have to leave them at the counter/with the employee. As someone who primarily sends these packages, you can understand my frustration.
For those who have never been here and for those that have, just go to the post office on Oakton. That location is an actual functioning post office and not still looking like an abandoned COVID storefront. Understaffed or not, at least one person should be paid to show up on time. The other location is far better despite the reviews. I blame our poor funding for USPS but also think this is an easy fix if you’re ok with just finding someone new for the job.

David is rude and has no professionalism. Joke of a post office, would rather drive to a different state than ever come back here.

Rude employee . I asked about supervisor and they told me to wait. When I asked where is she after long waiting they told me that she is not there. These two employees on front acting like they own this place. Lazy, rude, and not helpful. Don't you dare ask them questions.

Very rude employee. I had a baby in my hand and a pre-labeled package and just asked him where to leave the package, but he would not answer me. With the amount of customer complaints about this location The USPS should consider their employees and their customer service skills.
