I swung by the store and unfortunately, I don’t know their names, but the manager and the other guy at the counter went above and beyond helping me diagnose and even lending me some tools to replace my spark plug, plug wire, and coil and get back on the road. “I was passing through Effingham, IL on my way from Texas to Indiana when my Ford F250’s DEF system warning light came on. I stopped at a nearby Ford dealership, but they were unable to even look at my truck until the following Friday.
After calling around, I got in touch with Jeff at Scheid Diesel, and I’m so glad I did. He told me to come in right away, and they would take a look. True to his word, they got my truck in that same day, diagnosed the issue, and ordered the necessary part.
Since I needed to stay overnight, Jeff generously dropped me off at a nearby hotel and picked me up the next morning. The part arrived the next day, and within a few hours they had my truck repaired and ready to go.

“I stopped in at 5:30 in desperate need of something to make temporary repairs to a side window that was smashed out by thieves. One employee went in the back to see if they had any plastic packing material that could be used. He came back with another employee and a piece of scrap plexiglass that just happened to fit down into the window channel. A little painters tape finished the repair. What a life saver. Within minutes I was back on the road to Arizona. I cannot thank you enough Effingham NAPA!”
“I just needed my lug nuts tightened on my front tires, I had bought two new tires and rims in my home town and I had had the lug nuts checked after 25 miles, 3 times before I left Indiana. After driving to Effingham, IL. I wanted to have them checked again before I headed home, Walmart Service Center took care of it and didn't charge me anything even though I bought the tires and rims someplace else.”
