I love this place! The staff is wonderful. Thanking the new gal with long dark hair at the register-- a great addition to the store-- friendly and welcoming. . Also Pierce who may be back at college. He helped me when I had a black fly problem. Evanston has a great hardware store right on Davis!

The most wonderful hardware store with fabulous staff! Whether I am looking for a finial for my lampshade, a lightbulb, zip ties, or a broom, I know I can find it here and the staff will happily provide assistance. A great shop that has a wide inventory of products, with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

I've been going to Lemoi Ace since I moved to Evanston 5 years ago. Initially I was pretty surprised at the helpfulness of the ENTIRE staff. Ask a question about a project and if the employee doesn't know the answer they will go find someone who does. And they have all the fields covered - VERY friendly staff. Also I am continually amazed at the variety and hard to find items that are in stock at their store. It's not that huge of a store but surprisingly it does carry everything.

Overpriced, rude staff except Gail; take your money elsewhere. This is one local business I wouldn’t mind seeing go. A man’s without the name tag at the paint counter is particularly offputting in terms of (no)customer service.

You need more knowledgeable employees the two old guys probably only have a good grasp on the tools from last century and were already a quarter into this one technology is gonna eat you guys alive not happy with the service or how they talk to people from different ethnicities especially when I entered the store and you have a disabled employee In there that was sweeping the same spot…… hate to be that person but…. Yeah 👍

Generally a good selection of stuff and the salespeople are helpful. I was annoyed that there were 2 cashiers, but only one of them was helping. That one was a nice lady with black and grey hair. The other lady had dark hair and I think glasses but she was turned around texting on her phone so I couldn’t get a good look at her. The line was so long and only the grey hair lady was checking people out. It was really annoying and I ended up leaving because it was taking too long. I came back another time and the same grey hair lady was there alone. Only took like 3 minutes to check out that time.

Normally I have a good experience but I went to get a new electrical outlet tonight and was treated pretty rudely by the employee in charge of electrical there. He was sarcastic, didn't seem to think I knew what I wanted, and then was annoyed when I asked for an outlet that wasn't GFCI. He suggested I go somewhere else. Which I'm happy to do. If nothing else I'll save money on the parking.

Is it weird that a not-particularly-handy middle aged lady's favorite store is an Ace Hardware? This place has it all- housewares, cleaning products, bird feed (including chicken feed), kitchen gadgets, bbq sauce, halloween decor, paint, canning supplies, and hardware, obviously. I could spend hours looking in the aisles. And do, often.

Customer service has declined at Lemoi. Berating customers who are in the store 10 minutes before closing and in line ready to checkout is not good customer service. I understand you want to go home but then lock the front door at 3:30 or be nice to paying customers that are already in the store before closing time.
