The cup holder on the seat was broken the food is overpriced and the seats are uncomfortable. It is nice to see it running again tho but it feels like amc ruined it.

I had a poor experience at the Evanston AMC theatres. I noticed that there was only a little popcorn left in the bin and that it had been sitting out for awhile. Figuring it was very likely stale, I politely asked if they’d be willing to pop a new batch. I agreed to wait. The salesman popped the batch, then turned away from me to whisper nasty things about me to one of his coworkers. He also said, “She only ordered a small and I’m tired. I don’t want to pop new popcorn.” This tired salesman then proceeded to leave the concessions area and joke around with all of his coworkers. They stood in a huddle in the center of the lobby, just joking around.I waited ten minutes for my popcorn. When it was ready, I walked over to the huddle of theatre employees to tell them so. The tired salesman waved his hand at me and told me it wasn’t ready yet. The reason I’m giving two stars in this review is because one of his coworkers left the hangout huddle and stepped behind the counter to fill a popcorn bag for me. He was very kind and polite.I know working can be tiring. I was once a theatre employee myself. Even so, this behavior really was over the top. Management, I encourage you to speak with your staff about customer service.

Cool place! Very comfortable seats for a 3hr movie. Low key, no riff-raff, lol...?

The theater and seats were dirty! One lady sat in her seat and it broke. The bartender was not nice and made a nasty drink..and asked for my ID when I was paying for my drink which I feel should have been asked when I was ordering..however, didn’t ask others who was waiting at the bar. Card machine does not take tap, Apple Pay which in this day and age should have the tech capabilities at this point!

The concession area moved quickly and the seats were comfy. Everything seemed clean and the staff were friendly. Glad to have this theater in our area.

Sometimes the movie theater smells awful and some of the staff at the front aren't that friendly. They have kios that customers are supposed to use. But I asked a male staff member to assist and he was hesitant to do so, he did not want to get up, so I gave him a little attitude and demanded that he assist me. We got cold stale popcorn 2 weeks ago.

This place is honestly a joke, don't go here. So sad that Evanston continues to fall apart. The people working here are utterly clueless, the sound quality of the theater is unconscionably terrible. People are learning quickly too, there are never many people here.

The renovation is great. Was concerned that they had shut down after the Pandemic. I prefer this facility rather than going into the city.

This place was closed for renovation for like 2 years. I just saw my first movie there and it looks no different. I had hoped that the renovation would involve better seating. Also 1 beer and 1 glass of wine was $45. Anybody who falls for that will only do it once and the place will be bankrupt again before you know it.

So happy that this theater reopened. This theater was really a staple for the downtown Evanston area, and one of the few large theaters of it's kind that really offers a great experience for movie goers.

It's a little bit run down, and there are a few other problems, but it is overall a solid theatre. We went here because there were few options nearby, since the film was a limited release. Still, it was a good experience (though largely because the movie was so good!). I couldn't resist the infinite options of the Freestyle machine, so I forked over $6 for a small drink (it is refillable though). The interior is not very modern or updated, but it's not as decrepit as other AMCs, so there's that! The theatre itself was way too loud. I am OK with some loudness so everyone can hear, but this was just a touch too ear-numbing. Oddly enough, there were times when the theatre smelled gross, like moldy cheese. That didn't last long, so maybe someone brought in something and ate it right away. They really don't check outside food/bev here, because the woman a few seats down from me had brown liquid in her Coke bottle, and it did not in any way smell like a regular soda ;)

Popcorn was stale and too salty. People kept talking through the entire movie. If that wasn’t bad enough a homeless man entered the theater three quarters into the movie to harass me. Never going to this place again!!

We had looked forward to first theater visit after pandemic and to enjoy the film Oppenheimer. To our dismay, the low bass/subwoofer level sound engineering was _brutally_ loud. Spent much of the 3 hours with fingers plugged into ears. Saw other friends afterwards and, unprompted, they had the same reaction to the harsh, inappropriate bass volume. Good movie ruined by the theater's bad sound choices. We won't subject ourselves to that again.

They are open again after closing during the pandemic, and we are very happy about that. If you live on the north side of Chicago, there are a lot of big theater options. This is a good one

So happy it re-opened. It looks great. Streamlined and clean. It has a bar now, McGuffin's if you want to have a drink during your show.
