The location was easy to find. When I arrived to pick up the car, a brand-new Prius was ready and waiting even though I showed up a little early. Both the pickup and return processes were quick and easy.

I used to rent from Enterprise for years, but their service had gotten meh over the past few years. More than once I’d rent a car a month in advance and I’d show up and they would be all ??♀️ “We don’t have a car for you.”So we’ve used this Budget in Evanston, IL twice now. And while they’re not really all that much cheaper, the folks that work there are way better. The cars were fine both times, pick up/drop off has been quick and easy, and this place is 100% going to be my go-to rental place for now on.Eta: They do kind of push you to buy their insurance when you already let them know your credit card covers it. And we were asked for our own auto insurance information when it was pretty clear we don’t own vehicles (Chicago), renting like, three miles from our home address.Regardless, we’re still going to go back. ?

While overall my experience renting a vehicle from Budget was good, I really dislike the coercion to buy extra insurance coverage. This something most if not all rental companies do, it would be nice if there was a rebate if no claim is made. The vehicle, Mazda CX-5, was clean and worked well but as I don't drive one on a regular basis I can't tell if this particular one needed servicing, or if the odd hesitation when accelerating was a quirk of the marque.Again not a bad experience but also not a great one either.There again the Evanston Avis/Budget store staff were far more efficient/informative/knowledgeable than the Evanston Hertz store I rented from a few weeks ago.

Worst experience ever. I was told my reservation was canceled the day before I moved. The reason is they don't have enough trucks on site. This is absurd since I've made appointment with movers. They at least need to notify me earlier. Now I couldn't find any other truck rentals........

AVOID THIS LOCATION!! There are several other, far more reputable car and truck rentals in Evanston.5 STAR REVIEWS ARE SOLICITED AND NOT GENUINEBeen burned here twice; first they did not have the use specific vehicle we 'confirmed' they would have on location at the booked time. 2 hours later our van shows up and my father has missed his flight home, thanks budget!Second screw up; with zero explanation their POS system would not process my wife payment. No fraud alerts, nothing wrong on our end. The jerk at the desk refused to elaborate on what error was occurring, just a shrug and vacuum of customer service. Luckily I was dropping my wife off at the location and was able to inappropriately provide my card.Clown show operation, take your money elsewhere. Wish I had.

I had the worst car rental experience at this location.I made a reservation online to pickup the car at this location and prepaid the rental.For starters the manager was very rude because I didn't "answer the phone on time" when he called to confirm.At the car rental location he displayed a very rude attitude towards an employee because of a language barrier whom happened to be Hispanic just as myself.Once my turn was up we needed to validate the Driver's lincense with one of the new machines just introduced earlier in 2023. The machine did not recognize my Driver's lincense (which happens to be foreign) and he was unwilling to look for alternatives and would constantly cut me off. He then "instructed" me to call the customer service line and see if I could get a refund.He then proceeded to cancel my reservation.This interaction took about 10 minutes and he just wanted to get to the next customer.After I sorted out the refund with customer service I went back to get a new reservation however the manager said he was done for the day and had no other cars available for me.I ended up renting a car at the airport which was about $100 pricier due to being same day rental. I had the same issue with the Driver's lincense and the new machines however they understood that my license was foreign and were able to complete the registration. At the airport were willing to help and listen unlike the manager at this Evanston branch.

The Evanston Budget team did everything they could to be sure we had a great experience for a week long rental.We received a virtually brand new Nissan Ultima. This wasn't the base model but one with many feature upgrades that made the experience more enjoyable.As a one car family we'll be back for sure to supplement our car needs the few times a year it's necessary.

Friendly customer service.Reserved online and went in-store to pick up car. Process was quick and straightforward - all pricing and fees were transparent and there were no surprises.Will definitely be using Budget for future car rentals

My experience at the Evanston , IL store continues to be fantastic. Each time that I’ve rented, the staff is always friendly, professional, and very helpful with any questions that I might have. Rentals and returns are completed quickly — which is a major plus. Definitely my go-to when I need a rental!

Just returned a rental which at first was blocked by the owner Robert because the tank was not full. We were not given it full. We called the customer service and they asked to speak with the employee at the store whose name starts with a "d." The employee said no he would not speak to customer service and started acting unprofessionally towards us. Do not rent from them and honestly, just find a different company just in case.

I've been renting from this location for over 5 years. During that time I've received excellent customer service. Staff call ahead if there are any issues with the rental and resolve issues quickly. Cars are consistently clean. The manager and his staff are efficient and helpful.

I have been regularly renting from this location for years. I've received service above and beyond any I would ever expect (or have received) from a car rental company. I have also had occasion to repeatedly observe the manager and the staff deal calmly and patiently with customers - some of whom may have unreasonable expectations. In my experience, they are happy to make any request within their power possible. Very happy to give them five stars!

Ordered a luxury car for holiday travel. Called the day before to confirm the reservation and inform at that time luxury car is not part of there fleet. I asked if he could call other locations, he said, no. I asked for personal in leadership…I got no one. I have request a full refund. I can honestly say I felt robbed. Very unhappy customer.
