I really prefer Hilda s place 10 years ago than Connections, because they were helping homeless to get housing, drug, alcohol rehab, counseling for mental illness, some types of trainings and jobs which makes more sense, most of homeless can hold a part time job if you help them find 1. Connections prefer to give them only home and collecting more money from the government every year. Their case managers are not honest or caring, wait 3- 4 days before returning your call, and even forget ab your needs. Some of them are so envious of favors homeless are getting and always c/o of low salaries. Connections makes too much noise for no reason. I live in a place infested with rats, not enough heat, air conditioner device got a hole leading to outside where I put a rag to stop the wind, no chimney in the kitchen with a rude landlord fussing and yelling all the time,, do not want to fix anything, i mean that building 2010-2015 on Howard street is more than a nightmare, cannot sleep at night with all these disturbance, I got more depressed being in this program. I do not appreciate their type of administration, they are just using homeless, especially minority people, the whites live on Central street, goalf road, and good areas in Evanston or Skokie, the crazy ones stay with the homeless minority. They cannot fool anybody. Hope HUD can see our reviews, i m not sending reviews to Connections, waste of time, they d nothing ab our complaints....

They such they have a bunch of Arian staff members in management ?that are social inept with dealing with the poor, actually judging and further oppressing because they are poor. Refusing to treat the poor like human beings Seibert left standing in the ☃️ cold denying us access stating they were crowded when they were not in addition, he was not consistent with his temperature ?checks for cold -19 and called ? a grown man sweetie I'm not sure if he was mocking ? LGBTQ or trying to ask the gentleman on a date. Very unprofessional and I made a video while there they get hundreds and thousands of in donations, maintain their lifestyle pay their bills based on donations and sit around all day shoving food in their faces five finger discounts ment for homeless taking them home their selves. One one visit the staff was collecting in a group to purchase cannabis while on the clock absolutely deplorable YOU tell me I hope they loose their grant money ? and all their donations for operation... start from the top down Betty Boggs, and all her like minded cronies need to go Tina White, Maria Ynot, Lindsey Wade, Andy Seibert who BTW openly robbes the poor of their belongings..... the have lost the sight of their mission and have fallen ??so far from grace they ought to be ?investigated no one on the upper board seems to careSignedHomeless participant and PROUD

They're pretty friendly. The are fair and help when they can and more often than we expect with other shelters being the way they are. Stay positive and things with them will work out.

As a Landlord in Evanston, Connections For the Homeless has consistently provided unbelievable service and programs that work in line with both parties goals. Maggie Cross, in particular, has been nothing short of amazing! Her communication and explanation of processes has made working with Connections a breeze. Connections For the Homeless cares about the Community, and it shows with their daily interactions with the people of Evanston.

This is a wonderful place!!! They do such great things for the homeless! I encourage people to donate whatever they are able. Right now they are not taking in winter clothing, but you can always donate socks, because they are always in need of socks. God Bless them for what they do!
