Stop here on a crisp spring or late summer vibe if you want a mix of college, uptown and pedestrian/cyclist friendly vibe without getting into Chicago. Good mix of retail and non franchise stores. Parking is not impossible even during lunch or dinner hours. Lots of outdoor areas to sit and relax.
