In business for more than 37 years, JD Mills is the best place to find bulk food, spices, dried fruits, herbal remedies and other products for healthy lifestyles. I recommend the dried mango, sesame snack sticks, and chocolate double dipped malt balls. Prices are comparable with other bulk foods but the convenience is very good. Same owner with a recommendation and a smile at checkout. Highly recommend!

The owner is obnoxious. I mean very. He thinks he knows everything and that his customers are fools. Hell, if you keep paying his prices for out of date merchandise I guess he's right.
His helper guy is a good man.

They have good prices and carry bulk items that no one else in the area carries, most of it organic. Lots of spices, herbs, tea, grains both whole and ground. Prices are lower than many online retailers and Whole FPaycheck. Very reasonable on produce and have many health products.

Cashier says its not his job to bag my groceries. But I don't work for this store, I don't work for free and this isn't a self checkout at Mariano's. Its also not a membership-based co-op. This isn't about privilege, this is about business owners passing labor costs onto the customer and eliminating jobs in the process. I never would have thought a worker would be so willingly complicit in the eventual phasing out of his job.

I was hopeful this would be my go-to store for bulk spices and herbs. The less expensive and fresher option... That would possibly be the case here except that I've been overcharged for them the last three times I purchased something that needed to be weighed. Significantly overcharged. It was made right the the two times I returned to complain, but this time it was for only a half ounce of an herb. I won't be making a special trip to get a refund but I can't figure out how half of $1.00 ends up being 80 cents. This is disappointing, to say the least.

Incredible selection, absolute gem in Evanston. They have a wide variety of items, organic food, Ayurvedic/herbal medicines, supplements, spices, homeopathic remedies, etc., and the staff is very kind, helpful, and well informed. The store is clean and well organized. I highly recommend anyone in the Evanston area to check it out, amazing samosas too! 5 stars all the way!

I used to manage a GNC and one of the things we had to do was check expiration dates on our products. Regularly. I know nothing's perfect but there's no excuse to have product on the shelf that expired last year. Someone I know got sick today off product that should not be on the shelf.
