A great community of worshipers. Friendly and welcoming congregation. The pastor speaks with an inspiring conviction. An inclusive church.

I love this church from my college years, under the leadership of Dr Hycel B Taylor. And the light sign that I remember from the '70s still things in the main sanctuary today -- GOD IS HERE!
In 2024 It remains a great place to worship on Sunday mornings when in Evanston. Thank you for the ancestors that found it and continued second Baptist Church of Evanston.

Loved visiting the church. Great message was preached. Can't wait to visit again when in Evanston. Thank you, Pastor Nabors and your congregation, for being so friendly.

Pastor Nabors knows how to deliver a sermon. He take the Bible of the past and make it relevant to today's world.

Evanston oldest and largest African-American congregation! I always enjoy service when I go there. I always see people I haven't seen in a long time. And the spirit flows!

Pastor Nabors is an excellent preacher/teacher. I always enjoy his sermons. The music ministry is wonderful. If you're looking for church to visit or a church home, this is the place to go. Always welcoming to visitors and anyone that comes through those doors. Hard not to feel at home.
