The experience I had at this location was incredibly disappointing and felt racist. I was blocked from using the pump for 20 minutes while an attendant assisted others freely. When I asked for help, the manager intervened, yelling from inside that I needed to pay first—something that wasn’t required of the others. Despite explaining that I couldn’t proceed because the pump was blocked, the response was dismissive: “Not my problem.” This level of unprofessionalism and unequal treatment is unacceptable. I’m glad to be leaving Evanston if this is the standard of service here.

So happy I found Warren's Auto Service Center in Evanston! Service light on car went on, so I drove into Shell Station on Chicago Ave. The service team was great! They diagnosed the issue and fixed it! Recommend for very knowledgeable team, great service and price. Thank you!

My wheels were making squeaking noises, so I stopped into Shell Station Service Center in Evanston. Warren and his team explained I needed my brakes done. They did a great job and I now feel safe driving my car. Shout out to Matt for professional service. Will be back for oil change. I filled up my tank with gas before leaving.

Third time trying this station in the four years I’ve lived in Evanston. Every single time the pumps are broken and the attendant inside couldn’t care less. I saw several patrons drive off due to their frustrations. The last two times I stuck it out, I left without pumping any gas this time. Also praying my credit card information was not stolen in the process. I don’t usually post negative reviews but people need to be careful of this location in my opinion. Three times is not by accident.

This place is ridiculous with gas prices compared to other gas stations in the area. They’re charging $4.49 a gallon, i commute through Roger’s Park to get to Lake Shore drive. There’s a “BP” on Sheridan & Howard who was also charging $4.15 a gallon! I highly recommend NOT giving them (Shell) your business! Shameful.

I've used them for service a couple times and they are just not great customer service wise. No issues with car service, just not friendly folks.

I just recommended Warren's Auto Service to a co-worker and realized I should be making a recommendation to a wider audience. So here you go! Simply put, Warren and his team are the best! They are skilled, honest and reliable. When you bring in your car, it will be thoroughly and accurately assessed. They will determine what is necessary to be fixed right away, and what can wait. They communicate well in understandable terms and the costs are detailed as well. If you're looking for a mechanic that you can trust, look no further; Warren's Shell is thorough, trustworthy, and also very reasonably priced!

their air pump doesn’t have a card option to pay with. I know this is not their problem, but I had less than $2 in my bank account and no change it cash to speak of. There were no other air pumps within almost a mile and my tire was unsafe to drive on. I explained to the guy with curly hair and glasses that my tire was unsafe to drive on and that since I had no cash on me and their machine doesn’t take cards, could I use my Apple Pay or debit card to pay for a dollar im quarters. The guy proceed to tell me; very condescendingly that they can’t do that and maybe jewel or Trader Joe’s can help me. I told him I can’t get a $1 cash back and since they have a service station. Would he consider giving me enough air just to make it to the free pump a mile away. He replied “oh yes absolutely! I can fill your tire…for $5”. I was just awestruck. I’m well aware that my financial difficulties aren’t their problem, but I wasn’t asking for free. Considering f that I patronize this station multiple times per week, one would like to think they could cut me some slack, especially when my tire wasn’t safe to drive on. So I walked next door, per his instruction, to Trader Joe’s and they were more that amazing and traded me a $1 in quarters for $1 on debit,. While I was doing that, the guy ran out of the station (as another car pulled in needing air) and was about to start yelling at me for my car being there. I will NEVER buy fuel there EVER again.

When you take your car to Warren's you can count on an honest appraisal of the work to be done as well as a clear explanation of what's needed. Their work is excellent and their attitude about good service is very reassuring. You and your car will go away happy.

Empathy and reassurance!!Less than two weeks after I acquired my "new" car (a 2011 Prius), I had a rude awakening when a noisy start told me the catalytic converter thieves had been at work overnight. I left the car at Warren's, where they installed a new catalytic converter, and assured me the thieves would not be back for this one, as they have no interest in after-market parts. Nonetheless, I asked them to install a shield, which they did with their usual competence and courtesy. I've trusted Warren with my cars for 25 years, and would not go anywhere else.
