Every time I’ve booked my appointment I’ve always communicated the time frame in which I needed to leave. I can reasonably sit for an appointment time window of 2-2.5 hours. I come with my hair washed and detangled always, but I’ve never left on time EVEN though I was advised by the owner to communicate directly with my stylist who juggles anywhere from 3-4 clients at once. Many times I’m left sitting under a dryer 45 minutes and it’s turned off already. Mind you I’d always inform my stylist that my hair is washed but I guess she likes to wash it anyway. The last time I was there I left without my hair finished because it took nearly FOUR hours just to relax my hair. The stylist also kept telling me about mistakes she made as to why my relaxer didn’t fully take the two times I got it done and was unsatisfied but yet still charged me full price. My stylist told me to take it up with the owner but when I addressed my concerns with the owner as I should have at least gotten some of the price taken off, the owner as usual does not like to handle any concerns. She deflects and directs you back to the stylist instead of being a leader of her company.

Oh my goodness- I cannot say enough good things about this salon! I got my hair done for a wedding with a Great Gatsby theme. And Sandy did my hair 2x to ensure it was fresh for the wedding and she helped with me with my make-up! You don’t get that kindness everywhere! And I looked really good! I got soooo many compliments! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the hair salon! It was my first visit, and I'm already looking forward to going back. The staff was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was inviting, and most importantly, I left feeling incredibly satisfied with my hairstyle. From start to finish, it was a five-star experience, and I can't wait to return for my next appointment!

I really wanted to like this experience. It’s a cute salon and the vibe is nice. I came in for a 4:00 appointment and was in the salon almost 3 hours. My hair was still wet and I didn’t receive a style at the end of my appointment. I would have paid for a style but it wasn’t even offered. I left with just my roots retwisted, the rest of my locs not tended to and my hair still wet. I won’t be coming back because this was expensive to not have anything done to my head.

Studio SLK is one of the best hair studios in the North Shore area for high quality black hair care! I started working with stylist (and owner) Sandy in 2018. When Covid lockdown started, I was began to transition my hair from relaxed to natural. Throughout my hair transition, she helped me find styles that I could manage and enhanced my look. Sandy is kind, patient, and knowledgeable about hair. I feel very comfortable asking questions about hair care knowing I'm going to receive guidance on what is effective with my hair type. I still get compliments on my hair and most importantly my hair is the healthiest it's ever been!! Tiffany is my daughter's stylist and she loves the Tiffany's styles and care she's received. We couldn't have found Tiffany at a more perfect time! She's helped my daughter learn more about hair care during her independent years of high school and being away at college. Her hair is healthy and flourishing with the products Tiffany recommended. The vibe at Studio SLK is welcoming and chill. All services are reasonably priced and appointments are scheduled properly to avoid long wait times and overbooking. Call and book an appointment. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful laid back atmosphere, with old school classics (music) playing in the background. I met with Tiffany and she was warm and personable. She also has a lot of knowledge about hair as well as healthy supplements to take for your hair. I’m very happy with my hair, I forgot to ask if she could smooth my hair with some edge control ?. But I’m glad to finally find a salon that is the right match for me.
