Went to see a performance by teen ensemble. They wery impressive and talented. They have small parking lot (next to building) but you have to pay for parking. Theater where performance happened is small and intimate with folding chairs. They offer classes for kids and adults

My 6 year old loves the classes here.We both love seeing their very impressive youth performances.I especially appreciate that Actors Gymnasium is currently requiring proof of COVID vaccination for any students 5+ to keep our kiddos safe from germs in class.

They are keeping children who want to continue their careers from doing so be mandating a vaccine that is proven unnecessary at this point and not required by almost any other business any longer. Extremely disappointing that such a long standing center would still continue like this.

We hosted a birthday party workshop here today for our 9 year old . The facility and instructors were A plus and it was a top notch experience. My daughter was given a choice of 3 of 6 activities for her 90 minute party ( no food portion for the party which was great with us due to covid). She picked trapeze, balance ball, and silks. The instructors were attentive, patient, encouraging and got all of our guests happily engaged. It was a fantastic party and I highly recommend this place as a birthday venue. If we lived closer we'd consider classes there as well!

The Actors Gymnasium is amazing! I'm a new student and the more I learn about the organization, the more impressed I become. I originally signed up because I'm interested in becoming a well-rounded athlete and since they offered a gymnastics class, I decided to check it out. The fact that they offered a free trial class, didn't hurt either. After signing up, I headed up to Evanston to find their location. They are conveniently located in the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, close to Northwestern, the CTA and with plenty of parking. When I walked in I was greeted by staff and students. The class size was about 9-12 students and there were a variety of levels. I am new to gymnastics so I appreciated the instructor, Michele's, one on one support, encouragement, and focus on making sure students are safe. We did a variety of activities from warm ups to rolls, and then more advanced gymnastics techniques. Overall it was a nice supportive community because the other students were also friendly and encouraging. From what I could tell, the majority of students are Northwestern students/recent graduates who are pursuing fine arts careers or as a hobby. They seemed to enjoy challenging themselves and producing art with their bodies. Although the gymnastics class was too advanced for me, I spoke to the instructor afterwards and decided to start off with what remained of their Handstands & Handbalancing class. Again the class was challenging, but I feel confident that after continued practice that I will be able to do it so I signed up for their full summer class. Like another reviewer noted, I wish I would have known about this school when I was younger. It is hard to put into words, but the place really does feel like a safe space to grow and learn emotionally, physically, and creatively. They offer a variety of in person/online classes for kids and adults, including pilates, capoeira, juggling, and more so they have a lot to offer. I'm looking forward to summer session beginning!

Pros: The staff and the gym space are very nice. It’s a welcoming environment. Cons: In my opinion, you do not get your money’s worth for the experience. The cost of one class is three times what I used to pay for an aerial class, and I only had about 30 minutes of time on the silk here versus the hour and a half I had at my old studio. The class also seems more geared towards professional aerialists, not beginner or intermediate. That being said I will be giving them another try just to be sure I didn’t have an outlier class, but I had been hoping for more.

Very nice place... even I was able to train only 2 weeks (went for 5 classes) I was able to meet beautiful people.. I wish the classes were longer though.... However, if I return to Chicago I'll definitely go to train again!

The advertising doesn't lie: you will learn to fly! Yes, even me, 185 pounds of mom and sedentary desk worker. Do your inner child a favor and take a class here. The teachers are so supportive, figuratively and sometimes literally. I took the adult aerial arts class (with Sylvia and David) and I surprised myself by getting a lot stronger and learning so much over the course of 16 weeks. I did things on the last day of class that I never would have believed I could do on the first.

Inspiring performing arts non-profit for young people and adults to challenge themselves and conquer fears through circus arts and physical theatre. Highly recommended!
