“This really isn't the same Famous from a year ago. They really have made it cleaner, more organized and TONS more wines that are not typical liquor store wines. I found some great options I have not seen everywhere else. They also do lots of tastings here that I appreciate and find new options without being stuck buying something I end up not liking. It's really close to my work and I find it our new go-to place.”
“Great liquor store to stop by if nearby. Tamara, the cashier was super friendly to every customer who walked in and she made me feel very welcome.
The first sign of worry is that I smelled incense and asked Tamara if they burn it. She said yes. I asked if she can have them refrain from burning it while I'm working because it would trigger a massive migraine and I would have to leave. She said not to worry, they won't burn any while im there (and they didn't) ?. I'm not sure why middle eastern people believe we would rather smell toxic incense than Indian food, but they are wrong. I truly appreciated her helping me avoid a migraine.
Customers were very friendly as well.”
“I was visiting from out of state and surprised they had my brand of beer there. They didn't have a price on it but they let me purchase it for the same price I pay in my hometown. Great people in there. ??”
“I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception for Nick at Forest Park Liquors. This guy is truly the heart and soul of the place, and his service deserves way more than just 5 stars.
From the moment you walk in, Nick makes you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first time. He greets you with a warm smile, remembers what you like, and goes out of his way to make recommendations that actually hit. I came in looking for something basic, but left with a bottle of bourbon I’d never heard of before (based entirely on his suggestion), and it ended up being one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The man knows his stuff.
What I appreciate most is that Nick is never pushy—he’s genuine, down-to-earth, and clearly loves what he does. He takes time to talk to customers, whether you’re just grabbing a quick six-pack or looking for something specific and hard to find. His knowledge of wines, craft beers, and top-shelf spirits is insane, and he’s always ready with a story or a tasting note to help you make the right pick.
But it’s more than just product knowledge—Nick gives off real community energy. You can tell he cares about the people who shop there. He remembers names, asks how your week is going, and makes Forest Park Liquors feel less like a store and more like a gathering spot. It’s the kind of local shop that big chain stores can’t replicate—and Nick is a huge reason why.
In a world where great customer service is getting rare, Nick is proof that it still exists. If you live nearby, go see him—you won’t regret it. And if you don’t, it’s worth the extra couple minutes’ drive just for the experience.
Thanks, Nick. You make Forest Park Liquors something special.
—A very satisfied customer ???”
“They carry items that I can't find elsewhere. Staff is knowledgeable and prices are competitive. They have a parking lot and are located near other retail spots that we frequent.”
