Hawk Valley Retreat & Cottages offers a quiet, relaxing, and romantic getaway just a short drive from Galena, set among rolling hills, fields, and a white pine forest. The grounds are beautifully decorated with flowers and charming accents, featuring a pond, paths to explore on ten acres, and animals like goats, geese, and chickens. The topography of the area is breathtaking and serene. The accommodations, including various rooms and secluded cottages, are perfect, charming, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. They feature luxurious and amazingly soft sheets and comfortable beds. Guests enjoy peaceful porch swings and daily fresh baked cookies. The gourmet breakfasts, served in the Barn, are absolutely incredible, amazing, heavenly, and by far the best food. Made from scratch with locally sourced ingredients, they include items like pancakes, sausage, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, blueberry peach maple pecan French toast with honey whipped cream, and other wonderful sweet treats or heartier meals. Gluten-free accommodations are easily made. Meal packages with nourishing evening options like vegetable lasagne, lemon chicken, homemade bread, salads, and charcuterie are also available. The owners are very kind, inviting, personable, and welcoming, providing genuine care. Everything is well-kept and filled with beauty and charm, making it a great place to relax, unwind, and feel spoiled without needing to leave.

We returned to Hawk Valley Retreat this year for our anniversary. John and Jim prepare and serve killer breakfasts for guests each morning. The grounds are beautifully decorated with flowers and are very beautiful. Thanks for everything you do to make our stay amazing!

On a solo vacation Fox Glen cottage was beautiful and peaceful. Jim and John are the most personable and welcoming owners. The grounds were a delight to explore. The breakfasts were delicious and the daily cookies were wonderful. A great place to relax and unwind.
