“This local spot is full of great energy and friendly people.
From the moment I walked in, I was drawn to the unique cacti and succulents. I found a nice collection of aroids and tropicals as well.
Thanks for my beautiful Euphorbia trigona and the tips!”
“The plants are a bit more expensive than I’m used to but they are really well selected and taken care of. The clerk kindly and thoughtfully wrapped up the plants since I was walking home and gave me detailed care instructions. I would recommend even if on a budget”
“Picked up this Adenia Glauca from Sunnyside! They have a great collection houseplants, cacti and succulents. One of the best plant shops in the city if you’re looking for something unique. They also have a huge selection of pots, soil, soil amenities, insecticides, and pretty much anything you’ll need for growing at home. Ann & Tim are kind, knowledgeable, and supportive! Thanks for all the tips.”
“I recently received the most exquisite flower delivery from Victor Hlavacek, Winnetka. Every detail was done to perfection. The flowers were gorgeous, the arrangement was beautiful from every angle and the vase was lovely. Even the packaging, including the colorful tissue paper was carefully done to not only look pretty, but to ensure the arrangement arrived in excellent condition. Today marks day six and we are still enjoying them!”
“We purchased six Blue Spruce shrubs and two trees 20 years ago. They are still absolutely beautiful and have had no issues. Grew just like we were informed they would”
“I’ve used Primrose for over half a decade now, and they haven't missed once.
I’ve been let down by other shops when I’m in a pinch, but Primrose consistently executes high-quality work on tight turnarounds. Just don't flood them with your own last-minute orders and clog up my avenue. I'm only half-kidding.
The real value, though, is in the premium arrangements. When you actually plan ahead and opt for the higher-end stuff, the quality is undeniable; easily the best I’ve seen at such reasonable rates. Reliable, competent, and they’ve only gotten better over the years. If you want it done right, this is the spot.”
“Great experience! They were super helpful in recommending plants that would do well with the lighting in my home and they had so many pet friendly options that were clearly labeled. Will absolutely be back!”
“My favorite local flower shop! Everyone is so nice here and always takes great care of me. The selection is beautiful and I can’t help but keep coming back here.”
“This place is just the best. The prices and selection are as good as and often better than big box stores, and the service is on an entirely different level. They do not hesitate to help with anything you need, from locating items to giving input on products to loading the car. Such a gem!”
“A very tidy and huge greenhouse with very healthy plants - seems to be mostly flowers. Prices were good. Smallish parking area, so may be better to visit on weekdays, rather than weekends.”
“Pesches Flowers completely exceeded our expectations and brought our vision to life in the most beautiful way. Every arrangement felt intentional, elegant, and perfectly suited to our space. Patty is a godsend!
From my bouquet to the table arrangements, the florals added so much warmth and character to the day. They captured my vision perfectly – warm, cozy, intimate.
Beyond the gorgeous work, the experience was seamless and stress-free. Communication was clear, delivery and setup were flawless, and everything was handled with such care. We received countless compliments and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommend Pesches Flowers for anyone looking for thoughtful, elevated floral design.”
“The florist was great I use them for delivery and they called when they got there to make sure that it was given to the right person very professional I am literally in the process of ordering another bouquet to get delivered”
“I went shopping for money trees the other day in the Edgewater area of Chicago and all of the Asian stores said they will not be selling them until May. So I waited the next day and start searching for plant stores in Niles and found these two money trees to replace the big ones so they can be repotted. The lady helping me find them in the store was very nice and she had very nice plants there. This will be my regular plant store for now. Very convenient and the prices are very good as well. Thanks for helping me find a nice birthday gift to myself!”
“So amazing. I wish I lived closer to this nursery.
They have an impressive selection of plants with no pests insight. Staff are knowledgeable and ready to assist.
All the plants are very healthy.”
“The key thing to remember
With the Chalet is „You get what you Pay for.
They have expert advisors on hand at all times. I have not found they are any more expensive than other similar-sized nurseries, like Lurvey’s. I’ve compared
Prices and they’re not that much different. If you just need flats, you could find somewhat cheaper options elsewhere ( but even small Windy City Gardens, on Greenbay Rd Evanston, charges about the same. If you’re willing to drive 45-60 minutes away, you can find cheaper prices at far-flung nurseries, so it depends on how much you value your time as well. Two-hour round trip vs. 20 minutes. For large Purchases ( say 20-, 50 of a certain bush), the time would be worth it. Time or money? The eternal quandary.”
“Chloe completely transformed the look of my front yard. She and her crew did a great job. I was left with detailed instructions on how to care for each plant. I have heard nothing but raves from my neighbors.”
“Great garden center, the staff is always helpful and nice selection of items.
We always buy our Christmas tree here, but enjoy shopping here year round.”
“I have a friend who is a passionate gardener as myself, so when her special 'milestone' birthday came along, I wanted to send her something she could eventually plant in her yard rather than a floral bouquet. I chose a pink azalea. Though I live in the western suburbs, I wanted to find a florist in her Jefferson Park neighborhood. I chose Wall's Flower Shop on Higgins but the website was redirected to Donna's Garden Flower Shop near Pulaski & Peterson. I spoke to Avi on the phone and he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This floral shop was extremely conscientious about delivering this fragile plant in the midst of our cold January weather. They called my friend and made sure she was home to receive it. She was extremely excited and thrilled to receive her gorgeous plant full of pretty pink buds. I will definitely recommend Wall's Flower Shop/Donna's Garden Flower Shop to all my Chicago friends!”
“This update is based on my experience buying wood trim for a project: they have a great selection, and unlike my experience at Lowe's in Lincolnwood, their website is actually accurate and tells you which aisle/bin the item is in (see my Lowe's review for that cluster of a mess). I found what I needed, and they have a sawhorse set up so you can cut trim yourself -- I was surprised that they even had a miter box, as I thought that wasn't something they offered to avoid having people doing their full project cutting in the store. I needed to miter the pieces for my project, but I didn't know the exact measurements and had never used a miter box before, so I didn't want to embarrass myself trying to figure it out at 7am on Christmas Eve in the middle of a Home Depot. So instead I just cut the trim to the approximate sizes I needed with some wiggle room to measure it exactly later, and managed to figure out how to use a miter box at home after watching a Youtube tutorial. So, yay for that. Also after my adventures in elementary woodworking (lol), I needed wood filler/putty because the miter saw I was using was like 20 years old and not the most precise. Their website said they didn't carry the kind/stain shade I was looking for, but when I got there the day after Christmas, they did indeed have it. So, that was perfect. And now I have an awesome, handbuilt coffee table. About 5 years ago I also needed a random 1x4 (or maybe 1x6?) for a single shelf to fill the gap between my fridge and my wall, and one of their staff members used the power saw setup to cut that for me. That was also an easy peasy process. For my future random wood project needs, I'll definitely come here rather than Lowe's.”
“Always a great place to buy healthy plants and get good advice. Trying to be more intentional this year about colors and combos. Bo was really helpful on the additions here of maculata begonia, peperomia and the aglaonema. Appreciate you all and looking forward to my next addition!”
“Me and my old lady absolutely love this adorable place....actually, full transparency, going again tomorrow for our annual trip there for our summer flowers - the people there always treat us like family”
“Their website was the easiest to use; after a few clicks I had reserved the rental I needed. On the day of--I walked in, gave them my info, chatted with the staff, and was on my way. Drop off was the same process. The cargo van was all I could want from a cargo van. The rates were reasonable--especially for a short-term rental.”
“Superb huge garden center. Definite a must go place for you to get some ‘short cut’ gardening to fill up your home. Prices could be slightly more expensive than home depot, lowes; etc but plants are from great local vendors/suppliers. Lotsa peppers, herbs and tomatoes along with flowers and trees.
Lotsa green houses to walk into to grab what you need. Bought a pot of hydrangea there and was told to keep receipt for a year’s warranty. It is interesting..not too sure how that warranty works.”
“We had HD install new carpet on the stairs down to our finished basement. We couldn’t be happier with every step of the process. Our salesman was very helpful in helping us make our selection. The time for our measurement and delivery/install were very reasonable and the two installers did a wonderful job - careful, clean and very friendly. We appreciated how they explained the difference between a waterfall installation and a Hollywood installation - something we had never heard of before, but opted for it and are glad we did. It all looks beautiful.”
“Honestly one of the best resources in my home and work! I rent all sorts of tools for this location and Nick and Larry are incredible, a little gruff but they are fair and knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good things.”
“This is the store I usually go to for garden supplies. The store is always clean and well organized, with friendly associates. I had great experience at the store today when picking up 8 bags of garden soil by myself. The store associate Umar generously helped me haul the loaded cart to my car and loaded all of them into my trunk. I would highly recommend this store to anyone in the neighborhood.”
