Had a great experience buying a car from Smart Choice Auto in Godfrey, Illinois. Mark Thornsberry was great to work with and it was a smooth and fast process from start to finish. I have bought a lot of trucks over the years because of my job and they were by far the easiest to work with. I would highly recommend taking a look at them for your next auto.

I’ve lived down the road from Smart Choice for almost three years. When a certain jeep was parked out front and I drove by it a few times, I did my research — smart choice adds the carfax reports for their vehicles right on their website so you can easily view them, and they add the vins so you can get quotes with your insurance or do additional research on the vin through a decoder. After shopping around, waiting, and doing my research, I decided to drop in to Smart Choice. I worked with Will, and he was very patient with all of my questions up front about how their financing works (they only do hard pulls on your credit versus soft so proceed only if you’re serious about the purchase), along with other questions I had about the vehicle. I test drove it on my own, which was great because I didn’t feel the weird pressure of a sales person asking me how I like it as I’m trying to get a feel for it. After reading reviews, the first initial conversation with Will and the test drive, I decided to move forward because it just felt right. There were concerns I had about the vehicle from the test drive, and Will took the time after I left to figure out what I was talking about. Not only did he take he time to figure it out, he showed me himself there were no issues when I went back in a few days later. (The car is actually smarter than I am). The signing process was the smoothest experience I’ve had out of purchasing multiple vehicles in the last 5 years - he pointed out specifics on the documents and was clear about what I was signing - you may not think this matters now, but always be mindful of what you’re signing. I think it important to say that before Smart Choice, buying a vehicle was one of those things that was stressful, overwhelming, and honestly something I wanted to avoid (I did for as long as possible). The experience with Smart Choice was unlike anything I could ever hope for in making buying a car a pleasant experience. I recommend them 10 out of 10!

We’ve purchased 5 vehicles and made multiple referrals to Smart Choice. Why? They are a locally owned, small business, who are personal and offer up front and fair pricing on quality cars. Will and everyone at Smart Choice know their customers, go above and beyond and always lend a helping hand when or if a problem arises. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, let them know, be patient and they will find it. Highly recommend checking them out as an option. I can’t imagine buying from another dealership.

SmartChoice felt different from the moment we walked in. The office itself has a cozy feel I would not have expected of a dealership, and everyone was very friendly and down-to-Earth. A short walk around the lot tells you they carefully pick their inventory.
Will was a pleasure to work with on our purchase of a pre-owned Ford Explorer. He was extremely knowledgeable, straight-forward, and took the time to address all of our concerns.
