“Wonderful Judaica store. I stopped in on a trip to Chicago and was pleased to find several items I needed and even more that I wanted. The prices were very fair.”

“This place is awesome! I wanted to buy a couple of books for Christmas and they gift wrapped each one of them and sent them individually for me. It was super easy to make an order over the phone and they shipped the next day.”

“Outstanding locally owned, independent bookstore. A terrific community institution with great selection. Staff recommendations are truly excellent and will lead you to books beyond the best seller lists. Everything a local book shop should be. Worth your support.”

“The coaches are AMAZING!! They motivate you in so many ways with words of encouragement, energy, cheering for you to keep going and push past the idea of what you think you can do!! Each coach brings a little something different to class but all of them are rooting for you!!”

“As an avid lover of reading I love a small bookstore. This book store was cute, clean, and well organized. But what put it over the stop was the staff. The older lady (Nancy? ) is the sweetest lady I’ve ever met. So nice and polite and had that feeling of home to her. Even tho I live a hour away I’m sure I’ll be back”

“I like this store. There used to be one closer to me, but it closed. I found a book I had been looking for, and a few others too. The prices are decent (compared to the Schaumburg location) and you pay Lake Co. taxes. I want to go back and get one book I decided to leave behind. The guy at the counter was polite enough. I wish they had a way you could look up stock like a library, because it can be hard to know whether you've missed something, but it's worth a trip.”

“I've lived in the area all my life and use to go to the barnes in the mall. That Barnes was cluttered and hard to navigate. This new one is beautifuly organized and free flowing. The staff are friendly and put a smile on my face breath of fresh air. This is the best corporate book store you can go to in the area. Wide selection of books and a great vinyl selection. Happy I went and checked it out. Whomever runs this store kudos”

“Expansive bookstore with tons of NU logo'ed purple goodies! Check out the stuff for dogs. Adorable wildcat mini plush toy Keychain is a sure winner for anyone. Welcoming friendly staff go out of their way to help. Excellent university bookstore. And right next to a convenience type market.”

“Super quaint shop that's got an extensive collection of religious/philosophical texts, Buddhist symbols, and Tibetan clothing/art. The prices are a little on the higher end (I spent $60 on my first visit for a book, two mala bracelets, and a print), but I didn't mind because it was supporting a local business. The shop owner escaped Tibet at age 7 and immigrated to the US after living for years in India. They've got a great knowledge of local Buddhist community gatherings/groups, as well as information about how you should plan your trip if you ever travel to Tibet. A must-visit in the NorthShore area for any of the sangha -- beginners or long-term practitioners-- as well as folks interested in learning about other cultures.”

“I love the Bookstall! It's comfy. Staff is very helpful. They wrap gifts. I love their game selection. It's not often I buy gifts for kids, but when I do, the selection is always thoughtful, but also, engaging for the kids. They also have great little notebooks and a lovely card selection.”

“The CLC bookstore in Grayslake is considerably larger than the South Lake campus, but they still seem to have the right little bit of everything! Also like the online book ordering/pick up at the store feature too!”

“New Trier is a special school, one that gives each student the opportunity to explore and develop in every respect; academically, socially, philanthropically and athletically. That said, there are 1,000 students in a class. NT is probably best for those who are self starters. I spent the first two years there looking for my tribe. When I found small group of yearbook friends, it made going to school a far friendlier place. The students there bring tremendous talent in virtually all endeavors. It is a privilege attending school there, I am proud to be an alumnus.”

“Did they grow too fast or something else happen?I was gifted a subscription a few years ago and it was absolutely amazing. Honestly got me back into reading fiction after a very long hiatus. I’d look forward to each new book and effusively recommend to friends and family since my first selection. Just flat out greatWas gifted my third subscription this year. Got a notice that they were running late and did eventually receive two great picks in March… but nothing since. Have written a number of emails, but similar to other recent reviewers have had no response. I’m still holding out a shred of hope that they get it together, but getting pretty sad about losing something so awesome”
