The unique thing about Mybody Complex that sets it apart from other gyms is this is 100% private for working with a trainer. There is no public membership. And there is tons of space, the place is huge! Everyone is here for the same thing, to reach their fitness goals, whether that is for sports, weight loss, aesthetics, strength, or just move and feel better.Danny the owner has been a great mentor for the last 10+ years when I met him at the last gym I trained at. “I started out at the Edge in hopes of jumping starting my fitness routine post Covid. My initial plan for to try it our for a few months. I've been attending classes three times a week for almost 3 years now and I've never felt better. As a result, my previous chronic body pain is gone, I have gained strength and endurance. Mark Sich doesn't lie when he promises to make you the most athletic version of yourself. The most unexpected outcome is the support and camaraderie of the Edge community. “If you’re thinking about training here, do it — my only regret is not starting sooner.
I’m a personal trainer who’s coached professional athletes, and after 10 months of Olympic weightlifting with Coach Tim, I’ve made more progress than I ever expected. I started with a 220lb clean & jerk and a 175lb snatch — now I’m doing 300lb clean & jerks and 231lb snatch.

I wake up at 4am to train 8 clients a day and still make it to Tim’s class by 4pm — because it’s that worth it.

I’ve competed in two meets, hit PRs in both, won my session in the first, and took 1st place at Illinois State in the men’s 89kg class in the second.

Coach Tim’s style is highly technical. You earn your heavy weights here. His unique blend of Chinese and Russian Olympic training principles creates a truly next-level approach to the sport.

Classes are group-based, but it feels like 1-on-1 coaching. Everyone follows the same structure, but weights are customized for each lifter. It’s beginner-friendly yet pushes even advanced lifters to level up. The community is also incredible — supportive, hardworking, and welcoming. New lifters thrive here because of that.

Tim holds you accountable. He’s tough in the best way — pushing you to meet your potential. Training with him has transformed not just my lifts, but my mindset. The way he keeps intensity high, reads his athletes, and communicates — it’s clear how much knowledge and passion he brings. He’s forgotten more about weightlifting than most people will ever learn.

The gym itself is well-equipped and even has a recovery room with a cold plunge, sauna, and power plate — a huge asset with how much we train.

Tim also coaches you through competitions and is completely locked in — helping with timing, attempts, and in-the-moment strategy. He knows how to get the best out of you when it matters most.

At the end of the day, he’s not just a coach — he’s someone I trust, respect, and am proud to train under. I was hooked from day one, and I can’t recommend this gym and Coach Tim enough.”

“If you are nervous like I was, give it a try! Everyone is really kind to the newbies! They will walk you through everything and even check on you during your workout to make sure you’re ok.

I went back to back my first time and not the best idea haha, try 2x a week to start! Instructors are great and lovee how I feel sore the next day!”

“Love this place for group workouts, it takes the guessing out of planning a workout routine especially if you're a beginner but is definitely for all skill levels! Everyone is friendly and welcoming, you get amazing support there and definitely helps you stay accountable and motivated. The owner/trainer (Chris) is outgoing, high energy and super helpful- he even helped me jumpstart my car once! Having the right trainer definitely makes a huge difference in helping you stick to your fitness goals and Chris definitely makes a difference with that. There are different membership options and pricing is competitive to all other group classes I came across the surrounding areas. 10/10 definitely recommend!!!”

“Ultimate Ninjas NorthShore is a GREAT place for a kids Birthday party! My daughter and her friends (ages 4-6) had an absolute blast. The staff was great from start to finish. Activity options ranged from climbing up walls, hanging from ring and bars, sliding down slides, playing basketball, guided obstacle courses and more. We had many sets of hands helping with set up and takedown of the party room, serving the kids snacks and treats, and most importantly they ran all the activities. We would definitely do another party here. My daughter also does a weekly “ninja class” here too, which she loves and always sleeps well the night afterwards. Great spot for activities and parties!”

“Is it over the top to say that UltiFit has changed my life? Maybe, but it's true! I started UltiFit as a fun fitness activity 7 years ago then got hooked on ninja and obstacle course racing. I love the OC Fusion UltiFit classes and - of the UltiFit/Ultimate Ninjas locations, North Shore is my favorite. The gym has a great mix of really high-quality obstacles and I can't say enough about Coach Warren - he ranks as one of the top coaches I've had. Warren goes above and beyond with really creative workouts and encourages people to push themselves while having fun.”

“This facility is really a community of folks interested in all types of martial arts. The instructors are courteous but work you very hard - I lost 9 pounds in the first 2 weeks. For kids, it really looks like they have a well organized program from Jiu jitzu to wrestling, though my children did not attend these programs directly. I would encourage anyone who has driven by this facility to stop in and meet Master George. It's a bit intimidating meeting a world champion in anything, but you'll see this compound has evolved around his passion for the arts and his genuine interest in peoples' safety and health. It's a great experience.”

“I have done regular gym memberships, personal trainers at two different gyms. I have done workouts with friends. Orange Theory is a different type of workouts. It has accountability. It has motivation, and it has variety to keep things interesting each workout. I feel like I have gotten a good workout. It has a good mix of weights and cardio, and you can watch your heart rate and zone the entire time which is incredibly motivational for me. The environment is very welcoming, and they have mastered the fine line of gentle yet motivational.”

Jim runs a first-class and professional personal training business. You are always greeted with friendly “hellos” and “good-byes” from his staff when you enter and leave, which seems to be a lost art for most businesses. Jim has helped transform my physique in a major way and helped give me the confidence and healthier outlook for my everyday life. “As a 46 year old, recently diagnosed with lumbar arthritis, I knew I had to get my health care back in order. Fast Forward Med Rx program! $150 for 10 sessions with a trainer!! Fabian is kind, but fair! Exercise isn’t my favorite activity, but with his guidance I am feeling capable again! I will likely join after I finish and keep going! Thank you Logan and Fabian! Love this OTF location! The Riverwoods studio has such a great vibe—everyone from the front desk staff to the coaches is super welcoming and upbeat. The workouts are always different, which keeps things interesting, and the energy in the room really helps push you to do your best (even on those days when you don’t feel like working out ?).

Shoutout to the coaches—they’re motivating without being over-the-top, and they actually take the time to help with form or give modifications if needed. The studio is always clean, and parking is super easy too.

Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and want a solid workout with good people!”
