“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This is our second year coming to this establishment for prom dresses. We purchased a dress last year as well, which was just as much success as this year. The staff is PHENOMENAL, and make the girls shopping for dresses feel safe and comfortable. As a mother, this is a huge relief. They are extremely attentive and very personable. They even have an alternation specialist available for dress alterations. We found the perfect dress for Senior prom all thanks to the amazing staff. This is the only shop I personally will continue to recommend even in the future for other parents. Highly Highly recommend!!!!!!!”

“Excellent, friendly, personalized, attentive service- and what a gorgeous shop!! Takara's shop has moved from Oak Park to Madison Street in Forest Park. I stopped in tonight and Takara assisted me. I'm a little sensitive about my curves but Takara made me feel wonderful and personally selected two flattering tops- bold colors, exquisite craftsmanship- and a cool versatile green knit cardigan that doubles as an asymmetrical poncho. There is a great selection of necklaces, scarves and knit winter wraps & hats. The tops were a bit out of my budget but I could see saving up and returning for one soon. Easy free street parking along a really cool stretch of Madison Street. Great location.”

While attempting to find places in Chicago that sold garments in this style, Solei popped up on my Yelp search.Solei is a Chicago based store that partners with indigenous cooperatives in Mexico ensuring your purchase goes back to the community. They have a big selection of Mexican style embroidered dresses, tunics, tops and accessories in a multitude of colors and styles. A big plus is that they also sell Otomi style clothes and purses. I was really impressed with their selection which led me to visit them in person. Unfortunately they didn't have what I wanted in store so I ended up purchasing my things online. In house, their stock is limited but at least you can try on stuff for look and fit.A majority of their goods are pulled from their warehouse. What you can't find in store, you can oftentimes get online at: soleistore.comIf shopping in store, they have a section devoted to ball gowns and tiaras. It seems like a popular place for purchasing quinceanera gear if you're in the market for it. Come out and visit Solei. “Store 0428 in Elmhurst has friendly and helpful staff. The store carried big and tall men's clothing which I was unable to find at other big box stores, they only went up to 2x and didn't have tall clothing. I also like the one level building that made it easy to navigate for a Handycap person. The cashier Sarah was very diligent and noticed I didn't get all the discounts I was due and called a manager to adjust my bill, it was very appreciated being a senior on a fixed budget.”
