“I’ve been a Woodforest account holder since 2007. I’ve been living in Kankakee County since 2001 and have had business with most of the banks in the area. While they claim to be for the customer, very few actually back it up like Woordforest.
Some banks claim to look out for the customer. But when I had hit a tough time in my life, I looked to banks to help me out. They largely shut me out. When I got in trouble with low funds, some banks treated me badly and some closed there accounts on me. So when I came to Woodforest, I was not expecting much. But what I got was complete professionalism and courtesy not seen in a long time. But my favorite thing about Woodforest is that they took a guy like me and even when I screwed up with my account and, yes, I went negative, no one shut me out. Instead, they worked with me to help restore my account. Best of all, they gave me a second chance to bank there. That’s unheard of in the banking world. No shutting me out here. Weekly I’d give them my deposits and often they were there offering advice to get out of and stay out of trouble. They waived unnecessary fees that helped me gain control of my spending so that today I avoid the pitfalls and getting insufficient funds notices.
But now even 18 years of having an account here they all are still just as nice and professional to me as I was back in 2007. Greeting me like I’m an old friend is real nice. It sure doesn’t hurt they are always open even when other banks aren’t. It’s also nice that they make funds available immediately after depositing a check. No waiting needed. No other bank does that.
I’m here to say this bank may not have the space other bank’s have, but they know what it means to treat customers right. I’ve had offers to bank elsewhere but I won’t. I’m proud to say I’m a lifer when it comes to banking with Woodforest National Bank.”
