“I ordered a hard-to-find toy from them online almost a month before a beach vacation. It got hung up with UPS and I didn't notice it until more than a week after placing the order. I was told by a store employee that they checked with UPS and were told to just let it ride. The toy store manager, Angela, decided to ship a second item by hand delivering to the UPS store herself, in an effort to get me the item before I left for vacation. Unfortunately, the item didn't arrive in time. However, upon returning from vacation, I found that the package was delivered with a very apologetic note and a couple of extra goodies for the inconvenience. The second item arrived and we were told we could also keep that one too. Ultimately, I was disappointed that my kids couldn't enjoy the toy while on vacation. However, it was nice to see that they were considerate about the situation and did their very best to make things right. You don't see that every day and I commend them for that. If only the larger companies could take note of this level of customer service!”
“I'm a plastic airplane builder and collector and like to check out any shop that has aircraft kits. While Ron's Mundelein Hobbies doesn't have a huge inventory of plastic kits there's a full 4x8 section of aircraft that did not disappoint!
It's not too hard to find a Tamiya 1/32 Spit... But it is hard to find one at a reasonable price! I couldn't pass up the chance to finally buy one.
There are several out of production Accurate Miniatures (B-25) and Eduard (Spit Mk.VIII and Mk.IX) kits there... and a Monogram 1/48 B-58! (As of 05/07/2026)
There is another section of armor and vehicles, several nice ships, and a sci-fi section I'll need to check out next time.”

“I've been bringing my son here since his 1st haircut. Its been six years so far and he still gets excited to see Mirjeta! She has not disappointed us yet. The salon has a fun environment for kids and the staff are very friendly. Haircuts are fast and efficient and turnaround is fast. Always amazes me that as much as my kid fidgets and shimmies around, Marjeta still manages to do a better job on his hair than my barber does on my hair (with me sitting still). I think if I fit in the kid seat, I'd get my haircuts here too. A+ service and quality, repeatable results. No complaints! Highly recommend.”

“A bright, cheerful little cube of chaos tucked into Woodfield Mall. The displays are fun, the shelves are packed, and the whole place has that unmistakable “you’re definitely leaving with something you didn’t plan to buy” energy.
The store does feel small, especially when the weekend crowd rolls in. It’s not cramped, but you’re definitely aware that every square foot is doing overtime. Even so, it stays organized and well‑stocked, so browsing never turns into a full‑on obstacle course. A solid stop if you’re even mildly susceptible to impulse purchases or just want a quick hit of color‑coded joy.”
“Had a great experience in the activity area. We were at loose ends at the end of the day and the play area was too loud and busy for them. We just went to check out the toy store and found the activity area and kept them busy and happy till the mall closed. They were so excited to see a live axolotl and watch the snake being fed. The owner helped my youngest figure out the marble run and oldest had great time with nerf launcher and Turning Toy. If you are looking for a good place to keep bored kids occupied that's not the screaming madhouse the mall player was is, I would highly recommend.”
“My absolute favorite store for gifts for children of any age. Everything is made specific for children’s growth and brain development. I am so sick of glittery, loud useless toys that do nothing but promote some created character. Any choice in this store would be a good one. It is perfectly laid out with informed and engaged employee’s and a ton of parking. Forget Bluey and choose something that will bring a child genuine growth and development in addition to the pure joy of having a new toy!”

“I need special party type items for volunteer work I do. It's become increasingly difficult to find the things I need since many of the exclusive party stores have closed. I found everything I needed online at Windy City, and though it's not a store you can walk into and browse, they made it easy to order what I needed online and pick it up at there warehouse. Much appreciate what they offer.”

“Orderly store on a Saturday afternoon. When I first came I saw a sign that store was closed due to a power outage. But soon enough they opened the doors and I was able to get in and shop.”
“I want to give a shout out to Ness for making my son feel so welcomed and cared for as soon as he walks through the doors. The way she gets down on his level, makes up stories to go along with him and stims right along with him, the way she explains and is patient and caring omg I couldn’t ask for any better associate to help my son, also a shout out to Toby for making things fall threw when my son puts requests in on certain ones, and being so kind and caring, this store is by far has the most kindest amazing caring patient staff I have ever met, you guys have made us dedicated customers for life thank you”

“I was on the hunt for blind boxes and saw that Too Cool had some, however, when I visited, the ones I wanted were out of stock (i.e., studio ghibli). Overall, their blind box selection was limited. They did have a lot of anime figurines, keychains and plushies. And, a small section of Kpop.”
“I had an awesome time at this Build‑A‑Bear location. There were so many options, and I had a lot of fun choosing my plushie with my friends. They also have great deals on certain days, which was a nice bonus. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. This is by far the best location I’ve been to, and I’d definitely come again.”
“My family and I went to buy some loose Pokemon cards that my sons were interested in. The cards that they wanted were very random and consisted of Pokemon using all different energies as well as Trainers. The owner Jester was there and he was extremely helpful, helping us find over 30 of the cards that they were looking through by going through binders and loose cards in a box, which was extremely tedious. We've been to many Gamers Worlds where the employees running the store seem like they couldn't care less about their customers. We were fortunate to have the exact opposite experience here and want to thank Jester so much for his kindness and patience!”
“Other reviews are a little harsh - if you aren’t looking for the hyper popular singles you can find a couple of decent deals here! Most of the cards I saw were in great condition and the ones that weren’t mint were priced down accordingly. Nice guy at the desk too!”
