Mak's clearly differentiates with superior quality ingredients and service that's personal and focused on the diner. The restaurant is a hike from where we live way downtown, but we will be back again and again without question.

18 West Harris Avenue, La GrangeI'd been passing by Billy Bricks for a while and kept telling myself I needed to stop in. Well, I finally did, and I'm glad I did. It's a small place, but don't let the size fool you. The food was phenomenal. The restaurant has a cozy, laid-back feel, and the smell of the wood-fired oven hit me as soon as i walked in. Everything moved surprisingly fast too. Our pizza was at the table in less than 10 minutes, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They even gave me a recommendation, which ended up being the perfect choice.
I ordered The Bricks, a Bari-style ultra-thin pizza with tomato sauce, mild Italian sausage, mushrooms, shaved red onion, the house cheese blend, and a touch of Asiago. The first bite completely won me over. It was one of those pizzas where nothing is trying to steal the spotlight, but together everything just clicks. The crust was thin, crispy, and had that slightly smoky flavor from the brick oven that you can only get from a real wood-fired pizza. The tomato sauce was fresh and slightly sweet, the sausage added a savory, well-seasoned bite and the mushrooms brought a deep earthy flavor that worked perfectly with the sweetness of the onions. Every bite had that perfect balance of crispy crust, gooey cheese, fresh sauce, and smoky toppings.
I'll definitely be coming back. This has easily become one of the best wood-fired brick oven pizzas I've had.

35 LaGrange Road, La GrangeI love this place. It’s the best value in sushi around. Here’s what stands out. The sushi assortment ordered off the menu has very good selections. No weird chewy octopus or squid or egg. Mind you, I don’t dislike those but what they brought was a lot higher caliber. Very fresh and well presented fish. The rolls were top notch too. My girlfriend and I both had alcoholic drinks (2 each) plus a hamachi appetizer, sushi, and several rolls and walked out right at about $160 and that’s with an over 20% tip. Server was great. Love love love this place. Can’t wait for Woow Hot Pot opening right next door!
