About Market Square
Market Square in Lake Forest is a charming and historic location known for its beautiful architecture designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw. Often considered the first suburban mall in the U.S. planned for automobile access, it has been managed for nearly a century by Griffith, Grant & Lackie Realtors. The square features a peaceful park with a fountain, benches, and surrounding shops and cafes, making it a lovely place to spend the day. Visitors enjoy the European feel of the Amidei Mercatino Produce Market, which adds to the charm. The area is clean, peaceful, and picturesque, especially during winter with snow or in summer when it is lively with visitors, including many young children. It’s a popular spot for shopping, eating, and relaxing, offering a nostalgic vibe with its architecture and a small train station nearby. Overall, Market Square is a scenic and inviting place that combines history, beauty, and community life.

Love this place. A small square w fountain, benches, nice stores and coffee places. Besides, it is a time travel looking at the architecture.
