We recently had a bad experience with a pair of boots that fell apart with care within months. We where giving credit towards a second pair that costs 300$ and lasted barley over a year with weekly treatments. The leather seemed to be deteriorating on one boot. While the second boot was fine I will include pics of both right and left boot. They would not cover anything for the second pair of boots. Saying the warranty began on the purchase date of the first pair since the credit paid a part of the cost for the new boots. The 2 employees one being the manager where very dismissing. For the price the quality control and customer service is highly disappointing. I would not do business with them again. For reference the boots where worn 5 days a week in a grocery store environment. There was no excessive bending or abuse.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at the Lombard Red Wing store with employees Kim Brown-Strohmeyer and Jimmy Rodriguez. Both were disrespectful and dismissive when I tried to exchange a pair of boots that clearly had a defect — something that two other Red Wing locations had already acknowledged.
When I arrived, Jimmy barely looked at the boots before saying it wasn’t part of their policy. I explained that Red Wing offers a one-year limited warranty for defects, but he still refused to help and told me to come back during the week to speak with a manager. I work 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday and needed the boots for work on Monday, so that wasn’t possible.
Their attitude made me feel unwelcome and anxious that I wouldn’t have work-ready boots in time. Thankfully, another Red Wing location stepped in and helped me get what I needed. Based on my experience, I would recommend avoiding the Lombard location and visiting another Red Wing store instead.

Sonya was a wonderful help when I brought both my work boots and my casual boots in to be sent to the Red Wing factory for repair. She helped me prepare the shipping labels and ensured that upon repair they would be shipped back to my house rather than be sent back to the store where I dropped them off. After that was done she helped me with another pair of boots and several pairs of socks.

Still in lot at Red Wing in Lombard. I had to leave a review about the sales associate (Kim Brown-Strohmeyer) before I pulled away. Kim was beyond amazing. She knows the product line extremely well. While the technical measuring equipment do a fine enough job, it takes someone very dedicated and knowledgeable to pick up on the details that technology cannot.
I have only purchased Red Wings for several decades now. The products are second to none. Throw in the insurmountable dedication to her craft and knowledge of someone like Kim, well that
just make buying your products an enjoyable experience.
Employees, check that people like her make a huge difference in purchasing your products.

I’ve been shopping at the store for over 10 years, I had a problem with a pair I bought this year and the store manager Sonya Who was able to help me and fix problem. Can’t say enough about the service wonderful people!

Great experience. Found my work shoes. Due to my size 13 H .. They didn't have it in stock. The manager Sonya Garrett searched all stores in all states . She found the closest store in Michigan and called to have them put hands on the shoes then gave me the phone to order right from them . She really went over and above to help me out . That was Thursday I got my shoes Saturday. This type of service is just about gone these days

Stay away from this place. Absolutely the worst customer service, repairs/warranty and quality. I've been a customer for over 15 years and have never had any issues until now. I dropped off a pair of boots on 03/07/2025 and have had a nightmare experience since then.I was initially informed it would take 8 weeks to resole the boots. 11 weeks passed and I received the most botched job ever. The boots where sent back to correct the issue and yet again I have received a laughable job done.
After requesting to speak to the store manager in person, she stated the issue had been fixed, in a matter of days. Apparently RedWing thought it was ok to slobber epoxy over the epoxy to hide the defects, all visible in the pictures.I've tried working with the sales employees, the manager and have requested to have the district manager call me, but no one seems to care.Red Wing still has my boots and keeps me running in circles without a solution.

Wonderful experience! I went in to get my fiancé some nice boots, and Sonya was very helpful. Although we arrived shortly before close, she was very kind and took the time to explain products we were interested in. She gave us a lot of information on boot care. I would 100% recommend this location and Sonya to anyone looking to buy a quality pair of boots!

I want to take a moment to thank Sonia, the store manager at this Red Wing location for the outstanding service my parents received during their recent visit. After experiencing unprofessional treatment from a staff member, they initially left the store feeling upset. However, I spoke to the manager on the phone, and she offered a solution for my parents to come back.
They returned to the store, and the manager took the time to address their concerns, ensuring they felt valued and respected. This level of care and attention truly made a difference, and I appreciate the manager's commitment to customer satisfaction. Thank you for turning a negative experience into a positive one!
