Our Anniversary trip to the Makanda Inn was superb! The breakfast was delicious with a very friendly and helpful staff. We loved the Indigo cabin in the woods.

I literally found this place by accident while looking for an EV Charger. Since I needed a place to stay for the night I got a room too. What a happy accident! Beautiful property and very gracious hosts. It was honestly my best hotel experience in recent memory. I hope to get back there again. Loved it!

WE ARE OPEN! A Natural Retreat Development. The Perfect Adult Getaway in amazing southern, Illinois! Secluded, 18-acre wooded location. Centrally located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Our neighbor, Giant City State Park has hiking & more. Many Shawnee National Forest attractions are also nearby! We are a 1/2 mile walk from the famous Makanda Boardwalk shops. A beautiful Golf Course is 2 mi. away. Try a Zip line adventure too. Lakes for Boating & fishing, great food all around. SIU is 8 miles away in Carbondale. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate pets or children ages 0-12. Our B&B Inn Guest Suites include breakfast in the Inn, served daily at 9 am. The 3 Cottage Rentals - have kitchen/ette facilities. They are not part of the B&B Inn.
