“Picky eater alert… When I say the tripe, chicken, and burger taste like I cooked it myself. The tripe was the perfect balance of crispy and meat. Baaaby!!! The chicken was fried just right. I generally don’t warm food and I put my chicken in the oven for reheat (I DO NOT like warmed food) and it was still good. The burger was definitely made with real meat. I’ll definitely be returning to try other items.”
“They still have milk in glass bottles! Also a large selection of beer, wine and liquor. More groceries than a typical convenience store and they now have fresh brewed Green Mountain coffee and fountain soda. Pricing for everything is not always the cheapest but us always competitive. The family that owns the store is very friendly, helpful and appreciative of your business.”

“The guys that work night they are all very nice and helpful. The food is ok the buns on the sandwiches not good they r always hard on the bottoms that's from leaving them under the lights all day because they only make them once a day and that's at 9:00 am every morning. The food is going down hill fast. Larry's a pretty good cook he does keep the chicken fresh. He don't mind helping customers when needed. Hated to see Lisa go she always made me laugh and smile.”

“Your choice of names-says "Conoco" on the neon sign, "Gas & Mini Mart" elsewhere, receipts say "Harsh Market." Family owned, the old man and his son are super friendly. The wife is nice too, just not as "buddy buddy" with the customers. Decent selection for a small place, plus if you're a regular and you make a request, they'll try to stock it for you. Everyone in the neighborhood frequents Harsh Market, this business is definitely an important part of the community.”

“I have never had a bad experience here. There is one lady I almost always see when there and she is very friendly and patient. The store is always stocked, cleaned and organized. Competitive gas prices (for illinois). Has a car wash on property. You can get in and out pretty quickly. Nice place.”

“Dr called script to wrong pharmacy for an inhaler, called Carlyle store 3 times and dr office 3 times and finallybthey h!ve the script only to be told by it wouldn't be available until Thursday!! I called Cahokia to see if they had the inhaler and could be pulled to that store so I could pick it up and drive it to Belleville. They were nice enough to tell me that it had been sent to the cvs on Carlyle and gave me the number so she could get her inhaler tonight so she could breath!! Thank you so much!! Awesome customer service!!”
