“From the start to the very end, Doug and his crew ran a 1st Class, child and family-centric party. We were greeted at the car and Doug and his crew got out all of the party items and set everything up. Doug carefully explained how the party was going to go for my 7 y/o and 23 of his friends and relatives. Doug has an amazing way with children, keeping them having fun while staying disciplined. The Kayak carrying to the birthday cake and the sword cutting of the cake are special experiences my child is still talking about. Doug and his crew did everything, served all of the food, drinks, snacks, and cake. At the end, Doug and his crew took care of everything yet again and helped carry everything out for the day. Doug's dedication to serving others shows in every single thing he does with Hot Ground Gym. Knowing that he served our country in the Marines made the decision to choose Hot Ground Gym for my son's birthday party that much better. Thanks Doug!”
“We had my son’s 6th birthday party here. It was amazing! Sam was so wonderful to work with. From the second I drove up to the facility they were there to meet me with a cart and bring up our items. The party went seamlessly. They handled everything and it was so well structured! All the kids had a blast! Highly recommend having your party here. (Our ages ranged from 5-9 for the party if that helps! And they all thoroughly enjoyed it and were able to participate in the obstacles).
… Also— my son was THRILLED he got to cut his cake with a real sword! So cool’”

“This is one of my favorite places to walk. Everyone around the park are very friendly. People wave and say hi and are very helpful if they think you may be in trouble. I had and issue with my bike once and 20+ people stopped to see if they could help. It's free for Lake County residents and I think about $5 for non- residents. Since the pandemic they have not been collecting fees. It's been free for everyone for awhile. I am not sure if this will change soon or continue to be free.
Update 7/26/26 : This is still one of my favorite walking places. However I don't visit as much as I used to as some of the birds during their mating season have had it out for me. I have been attacked from above 8-9 times over the last couple years. I used to go 4-5 times a week and now only a couple times a month because it is a little annoying. I try and go now at the end of July through the fall because it is safer for the top of my head.”
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Concorde Banquets in Kildeer! My daughter had her wedding here a week ago, and from the moment we started planning until the very end of the wedding, the entire team was absolutely outstanding.
From the owner, John, to every member of his staff, everyone was incredibly professional, attentive, caring, and accommodating. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service went far beyond our expectations.
What meant the most to us was how much they genuinely cared about the bride. Wedding planning can be incredibly stressful, especially for the bride, but they were always there for my daughter, following up on every request, listening to her, working with her, and making sure she felt comfortable and happy. They treated her with such kindness and made her feel that everything was going to be okay.
They also made sure her husband was taken care of and that everything came together beautifully on their special day. Their attention to detail and commitment to making the wedding perfect truly made a difference.
A very special thank you to John and his entire staff for making my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding such a beautiful and unforgettable experience. We will always be grateful for the care, professionalism, and love you showed our family.

“I had a last minute event request for a Repast and this space and my overall experience was phenomenal. There was already another event booked that evening and the owner allowed us to use the space as long as we were out by an agreed upon time. It was very easy to book and the price was quite reasonable considering they handled setup, decor, played music that we requested, and even beverages were included. All we had to do was arrange for catering and they can handle that as well if you prefer. The space is amazing and the owner was a joy to work with. They truly made a tough day easier for my family and got it done in less than a week. I am an events professional myself and I HIGHLY recommend Brittane’s Event Center for any of your event needs. Extremely professional and reasonably priced! Thank you!!!!”

“Shelly and the team at The Birchstone helped us out at the last minute when the venue we had booked cancelled on us two months before the wedding date. We had a micro wedding of only 32 guests so I was hesitant regarding the spaces feeling too large. After visiting the site, I knew right away that it was perfect! They had two smaller spaces that accommodated our group perfectly: one for cocktails and one for the dinner. They also had an outdoor courtyard for the ceremony which was beautiful surrounded by natural greenery and vines. The ceremony space felt beautiful and private.
Shelly made everything feel so special. The food was amazing, the staff were gracious and helpful and the space itself was just perfect! It was beyond my expectations and came together in such a short period of time.
I highly recommend Shelly's work at The Birchstone with Pear Tree Catering for any special event, whether a small event like ours of 32 people or a much larger wedding. The venue had everything we needed and more. (Shelly even pulled out a pool table which was set up perfectly in the back which was a big hit with many of the guests.)”

“My wife and I recently had our wedding at Loft 21 a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, the pictures, walk throughs and planning did not do justice to how amazing the venue was.My wife and I are planners and we booked with Loft 21 a year in advance, so you can imagine we had a lot of ideas for our wedding. The planning process with Loft was good, some minor miscommunication, but feel like that will happen anywhere when you're emailing back and forth for that long. We were quickly able to jump on the phone and hash out all the plans and timeline to make everything flow perfectly.Brittni (Operation Lead) did an amazing job for our ceremony and reception and made the day of so easy for us that we did not have to do anything before the wedding, other than setting up our own props. The pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception went so smoothly, it's really hard to believe. I would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Loft 21 to any couple looking to get married in the area.I'd also highly recommend utilizing Loft 21s preferred vendors, specifically H.Y.P.E Media as the owner of Loft also owns them so it made the Music and Production so much easier on us.They allow you to customize pretty much your own event, from lighting to set up to bar package, to pretty much anything you can think of.Thank you again Loft 21, Brittni, Jazmine and everyone else at Loft 21 for making our day so special and easy on us!”

The entire party felt stress-free, organized, and fun for both the kids and adults. “Satisfied” honestly isn’t even a strong enough word for how happy we were with the experience. I was so impressed and had so much fun playing on the grounds. It's elegant and romantic with plenty of outdoor and indoor spaces for photos. “I had my kids birthday party here. It was cool. The staff was cool. Tobe made the set up simple and was present and responsive. The bathrooms are small. The pizza was good, even though it comes from outside. Price for the party was reasonable and the music was diverse. I'll be back.”
