“Very cool. They had little pop up laundry bags which is convenient since I am on the road a lot and usually just throw my laundry in a Totes bag but maybe specified laundry bags will be better They also had a little purple travel kit with tooth brush bobby pins bandaids and at least 4 antiseptic wipes among other things.”
“Hello comment people, just wanted inform a good comment for Gena the manger !!! 😇😇 I been here like three times I would say . “Store was clean, employees were nice, helpful. Got a hello from an employee when I walked in. Also got help checking out.I was in and out cause if I stayed longer then I needed I'd spend more money then I should!! Lol ...”
“Wow, impressively massive, vast even selection, and in the middle of ALL these other stores too! Dan was very nice. Coming back ASAP for buncha stuff Great environment they are cultivating ??❤️??”
“It is a store with a variety of products at affordable prices (toys, clothing, shoes, exercise items, art supplies, food, snacks, makeup, etc.), whether to buy or just to hang out (you will hardly not buy something ). It is a place where you are very likely to find a gift without spending a lot.”
“This is a huge one. Like the one i I once called home. (Florida. ) Found everything on my list. Tax is not too bad. No hidden fees when paying cash. Not sure on other form of payment. Wish they would put a DG by here.”
“After you've been to as many different dollar trees as I've been to, one might think they all start to blend together. I got a sharp reminder that this isn't that case. When I walked in, the offal stench that confronted me was almost more than I could handle. It smelt like someone microwaving a youth hockey players pads post season. Truly unforgettable”
“Had a chance to visit this location and it fares along with the other 5B in the city and suburbs. They also have the succulent block I was looking for. Neat and organized and the staff is amazing: friendly and helpful. Got some sage and palo santo smudges.”
“Five Below is above and beyond any expectation. They even have impressive hires. I cannot express how r8ddled with embarrassment I might very looked at returning a pore vacuum to this store. As the manager, cool inspected the device which had abruptly stopped working, I noticed that the oils and guuuck from my first attempt was still trapped in a suction cap. I offered to remove it from the return but she calmly reassured me that the device's integrity should have lasted beyond the first use and that it and what oily residue remained in the coil would not be kept for further inspection. She issued a refund for the full cost and even placed the balance on a gift card which I was able to use the same day. An issue of refund to the original card used for purchase mightve taken a week longer. Her five below transfer of the balance to a gift card allowed a preferable measure of timely resolution and made me a loyal give below consumer for life. Thank you thank you thank you. THANK YOUUU. I SWEAR. If you've never purchased there before, want something that almost Noone but a college student or fashionable adult is likely to carry in their bag or have as a conversatiknstarter in their home: Shop 5 Below.. they are above and beyond .”
“I always have the best experiences.when I shop there . It is family owned and all their staff are always helpful. So if in Melrose park shop at Dollar and day plus. Oh! They have slots!!”
“Hellloooo I had a good experience here got attend by the manger for the items I had. Good service and didn’t give me issue with buying 💯😇 big store and had everything I wanted and more . Thank you Juliana for attending me. 😬💯”
“Shoutout to Lynn for great customer service. She thoughtfully separated my food from my cleaning products and even double-bagged the household items without me having to ask. She was polite, efficient and clearly attentive. It’s the simple things that make a difference and this really made my day.”
“One of my favorite places to go for some old-fashioned candy bars, assorted candies or some late-night snacks. The staff is always really nice to talk to. I think they have done a much better job clearing the isles. Everything seems to be in the right place now. The store itself seems to be cleaner nowadays.”
“cleanest bathroom I’ve been to in a public place, staff is very nice and they will most likely have the stuff you would need considering they are constantly stocking, great dollar tree!”
“Jessica I believe she’s a manager is amazing. She goes above and beyond. This location is farther from me but when ever I’m out this way I stop here! Thank you Jessica for helping me out today with my returns and exchanges I felt over whelmed and u made me feel better about the situation!”
“Love their customers service. Specially the clear Felipe hes always be so polite and helpful. Love shopping at this location. Definitely recommend this store 100%”
“Thought this place was pretty cool, would’ve loved if the toys and collectibles booth was open or at least had some signage of when they would re open but the place was HUGE AND AMAZING!”
“As a Dollar Tree it's solid, shelves are stocked and it's kept really neat and clean. The reason I'm giving it five stars is because of the wonderful, wonderful lady at the register! I wish I had asked her name but I just want her to know that I think she made everybody's day a little bit brighter and happier with her positive and kind personality! I'm coming back to this location even though it's out of my way simply because of how nice everyone is there ? Btw it's Thursday afternoon/2:30pm so the store knows about which employee I'm referring:)”
“Not always find everything but I certainly do find things ?I'm here every week and in this store have the friendly staff...THANK YOU LORD FOR THIS BLESSINGS”
“I am giving 5 stars to the manager, tall cashier dude that's always present, and the older woman that typically closes because these workers bust their humps! To the contrary I want to say to the owner, general manager, etc I was in this evening around 6:48 pm. The cashier ( no name tag) wearing white jogging pants and a black top should be taught to not be holding a customer's money and texting... I wanted to scream from how unprofessional it was just standing there staring at her for what seemed like FOREVER to please put her phone down and finish my transaction. As soon as I walk up she's just texting completely ignoring me and my entire interaction was awkward. I look forward in seeing the manager whenever I walk in as she is incredibly helpful and pleasant and I could've right there and then called for her however she was busy putting the price tags on throughout the entire store trusting this young lady and this cashier should be written up. Next time if it happens again I will be certain to say something. If it were my job, I'd be out of a job, period. I did not appreciate spending $43.00 to give her $45.00 and wait forever to get my change that probably was about 3 minutes total just staring at her and she gave no care because obviously it's welcomed. I have seen the manager at this location train and she is stern, hard pressed while being gentle and extremely patient so I know it is not happening in her presence. We all have things going on at home, etc but that's what a break is for!! As a professional, please do not respond with, " I'm sorry to hear this. Please email me or please understand.... ( Whatever reason is given it is not good enough)" In my customer service career as a young cashier I had to learn the hard way by receiving a write up, having my phone confiscated by management until the end of my shift or being sent home without pay. I do understand that this generation is pretty much... RELAXED to a certain degree but it is common sense, " the customer service is the first contact, is responsible for creating that warm and inviting impression to keep customers coming back vs to their competitors, are responsible for adhering to their employment hand book guidelines of what is acceptable and isn't and the customers wanting to come back purchasing inventory is what creates profit and raises" Please, get it together. Give your Manager and the old lady a raise as they have been the consistent employees in that store since I moved to Wood Dale years ago. Stop hiring anyone and if you do ensure they have common knowledge of what is expected or train them properly so that these young folks understand.”
“I recently visited a Dollar Tree location, and I was genuinely impressed by how clean and well-organized the store was from the moment I walked in. Many people expect discount stores to be a bit cluttered or chaotic, but this Dollar Tree completely defied that stereotype. The floors were spotless, the aisles were tidy, and every shelf looked thoughtfully arranged, making it incredibly easy to find exactly what I needed without feeling overwhelmed. What stood out most was how neatly the products were grouped by category. Seasonal items were displayed in an attractive, easy-to-browse layout, while everyday essentials like cleaning supplies, snacks, and personal care items were clearly labeled and fully stocked. It made the shopping experience smooth and enjoyable, almost more like a boutique discount store than a typical dollar shop. The checkout area was also clean and efficiently managed. Even when a small line formed, the staff moved things along quickly, all while keeping their stations organized and free of clutter. That level of attention to detail really added to the overall positive atmosphere of the store. Overall, this Dollar Tree exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness, organization, and thoughtful layout made shopping simple, fast, and surprisingly pleasant. I’ll definitely be returning.”
“There's a lot of stuff to buy at good price. Halloween decorations, Christmas decorations. Gift bags, birthday cards, plates, glasses, mugs. Trash bags, ziploc bags, home cleaners, air fresheners. Dog and cat food, and more.”
“I love dd's Discount because it's the best shopping place every love the clothes the shoes everything 😍 🙌🏾 💕 😌 ☺ 💗 in the prices is so cheap it the best so go shop at dd's discount”
“The young man this morning was so very patient and respectful. What a great example of customer service.Didn't catch his name, but he is great at his job!!”
“Overall 4/5 starts, great store low prices, some lady kept throwing stuff away that doesn’t work there, and someone said “she’s catholic, what do expect!” Which made me crack up. Great gag gifts and accessories, overall 4/5!”
“I've been dealing with this business for over 20 years. Very fair people and owners. Excellent service and items are what they present. I will continue to purchase from them. I always visit them at there showroom in Rosemont. In fact there's about 50 suppliers there showing off their items about every 6 weeks. I highly recommend visiting. the "TMC"”
“This place has been around for 8 years and how am I just finding out about this gem?! I found the same brands I buy at Discovery for even less here. I found adorable comfy clothes and some beautiful home decor items. The fragrances arent the best but they have a wide selection to try. You may be able to find one for really cheap that you like! They have a wide selection of coats, sweats, yoga pants, shirts, dresses, shoes.I was very impressed with the variety of vases, mirrors, art, and decorative items. Don't worry about the employees since they work long hours and you just have to be grateful that they are there and this place exists. They may not be the most helpful but it's not the biggest deal.”
“For myself, its a great place to pick up party gift bags, boxes, bows for gifts and seasonal decorations. I also purchase cleaning supplies and some school type supplies.”
“I work across the street from this store. Today Cashier Dianna came to our store to help an elderly lady who had left her purse at Dollar General earlier. It was a very wonderful act of kindness. Best customer service ever. Thanks for looking out for our community.”
“Loved the store. Unlike any other dollar store, you can find good quality products. I was surprised how many products they have and not to mention they are affordable. Definitely love the store and going there soon. Best dollar store I have been to”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
