“As a family, we like going to mass here. My kids have been attending the Religious Education program for many years. My youngest has been there since Kindergarten. Yes, they offer R.E. for Kindergarteners. Even after receiving the sacrament of First Communion, they offer continuing R.E. classes up to and including confirmation. Many parishes that I know of only offer the preparation for First Communion and preparation for Confirmation but nothing in between those spiritual and faith formative years.”

“We love this church! We were there for a friend's baby baptism . It is Romanian, and quite a bit of the service is another language, however, they provide translators that you can put in your ear and hear it in English if need be. It's such a biblically based church and so spiritual. It is a long service, however, so be ready for it. If we lived in the area, we would consider attending that church because of the spirituality of the pastors. Beautiful sanctuary as well!”

Beautiful church and very nice congregation. It’s a small community parish with many multigenerational families. I love the priests and find the sermons helpful and inspiring. I hopped around a bit at other Catholic Churches in Chicago when I moved here before finding Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. I was struggling to find sermons that I can really take with me into my week at the other parishes I tried. I feel at home here and really appreciate the familial vibe here. Usually easy to find street parking. The church is gorgeous and I can’t wait for the renovations to be complete—I think it will feel like a little jewel box when it’s complete. It was already beautiful before. They did a very nice job with the church hall we are using in the meantime.”

“Visited for the Harwood Heights Festival. Nice and friendly. Smaller Fest with small beer tent and only 4, 5 food places. Good bands. Ample and comfortable seating. Also indoor bingo. Had Handicapped parking too.”
