The interaction of people and the diversity is reassuring. The downtown is very walkable, centered around Lake Street with restaurants and shops. While there is limited street parking, there are several garages. It is a beauty to behold, only getting more and more beautiful over the years, with super cool new stuff popping up alongside long-standing local businesses. These include a popcorn store that hasn't changed its flavor in over two decades and a place that serves a favorite ice cream flavor for over twenty-five years, like the rainbow Superman ice cream. The area is super nice, and the people there are nice, but it is advised to be careful and not go alone. Everyone should experience Downtown Oak Park for themselves.
