Been shopping since ‘85. Now I volunteer. It is super fun. I would arrange my work schedule to shop here, because the sale dates are very limited. Put the dates on your calendar! Almost all volunteer run!!! They support several Oak Park Charities. It is a worthwhile cause and a blast to shop. It is an old mansion and each room has a different kind of merchandise. A real treasure hunt.

Amazing place. Great selection and usually many options for everything. Helpful volunteers. I've gone many times and always find treasure.

Great place to find nice second hand items for a good price. Warning: there's no air conditioning in the building, so it can get hot when it's warm out!

I love the Economy Shop for books, craft supplies, jewelry and women’s clothes and shoes. As with any used or vintage shop, you have to be ready to hunt for what you like or what you’re looking for. Several of the rooms usually have 50% off deals which is always exciting. I recommend going first thing when they open and heading straight to whatever room is your favorite, as the good deals move fast. For an example of what you might find, just today I scored an All Saints top in my size for $20 and two $1 hair scrunches with scarf bows which I had been thinking about ordering from Etsy for $25. I also needed a new white belt and I found one for $1. I almost don’t want to write this review so this place stays a secret, it’s too good! Please note for those with mobility issues or small children, you may want to pass. It can be crowded and you must navigate up and down narrow stairs and pathways.

We stopped into Economy Shop by chance on our trip through Chicago, wow what gems! The volunteers/staff was so friendly and helpful. Their selection of antiques, clothes, cool kitchen apparel was great.Be careful to check when they are open, they only have a few days per month that they are open!

Hit or miss. Some very good deals buried in lot of overpriced junk. Staff are generally friendly, some are a little too open to loudly discuss politics while people are trying to shop. Have also found some very questionable, racist items for sale

This is just a great shop with lots of little surprises in every room! The best part is that funds go to support a variety of local charities.

I've only seen this place open once in the 2.5 years I've lived here. I don't understand this operation.
