I love this post office is amazing. I always come on Saturday mornings and the representatives always has a smile on their face and the line moves fast. I come here from the south side because of the service.

This location (south) is my go-to bc it's closer to home, and they have parking!!! Note: Be prepared to leave hazards on at the location on Kenilworth or park on Lake or South Blvd and walk over to (north) location. The USPS staff at my go-to are all efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. My main negative with this location is cosmetic. When was the last time these windows were washed?! No maintenance staff on the property? Boo. Also, the vestibule could use a cleaning too. There is a push button for door accessible access however, I am not even sure it works. These things wouldn't stop me from coming here...just friendly suggestions.

To be fair, after some of the staff were replace a few years ago ago, the service here has improved. There are polite and cheerful clerks at the desk to help you. Also, I know the delivery lady, Angel, for my zone by name now, because she is so nice and her delivery is consistently solid. 5 stars for Ms. Angel!

I go on Saturday mornings when they are open for 2-3 hours instead of Lake Street.
There is never a line and things ship quickly
Lake Street is way worse. All the negative reviews are from serial complainers

Very much a "roll of the dice" experience at this location - there's two workers at the counter in particular who are both very cordial, helpful and polite. Unfortunately I don't know their names and can't applaud them publicly. Otherwise it's luck of the draw if it isn't one of these two - my unfortunate experience with any other workers here is pretty much that I'm greatly inconveniencing them by expecting them TO DO THEIR JOB. I mean I get it - it's the post office, and so in some cases you're not going to get the brightest and best that humanity has to offer -- and sorry to put it that way, but just look at many of the other reviews here. Go-getters and eager-to-please, socially adept types aren't always going to be the caliber of employees drawn to the post office - sadly, you can and will find yourself having to deal with people who leave you thinking "okay, yeah, no wonder you work at the post office". Let's just say that this particular post office has no shortage of workers who clearly weren't at the head of their class in school and who clearly do juuuuuuust less than the bare minimum to keep their paycheck coming every two weeks.

The post office at 1116 is my go to post office. I don't live in Oak Park but go there for the helpful staff and quick service.
