“Aug’24 Update: I dropped my 14 year old car off with Ed and his team after it failed an IL emissions test and I had just 3 days until my registration expired. They had my car fixed the next day, and when I went to go pick up the vehicle, Ed’s Team had already taken it to the Emissions Test Site and gotten it a Passing rating - this meant I could immediately renew my registration online, and meet the expiration deadline.
I was floored by this level of customer service and dedication - in a world that’s increasingly automated, corporatized, and less-personal by the day - trust Ed and Elmhurst Auto Care to take care of YOU and your Vehicle - thanks guys!

“A Tale of Two Shops – just one example of how great Nofsinger’s has been over the years, as Dave is always quick to consult or scan my cars even when busy, and has always been more than reasonable.
Using technology many independent shops lack, Dave diagnosed my intermittent airbag light as a failing clock spring and then determined that Hyundai had a problem with the part so I might be able to get it repaired free at a dealership. No charge from Dave.
Sure enough, I found a technical service bulletin and an extension of the warranty to 15 years. This should be the end of the story, but you can always count on dealers to make Nofsinger’s look good. I booked a service appointment at a dealership in Villa Park (also reviewed) and insisted that they have the part in stock by the time I came so I wouldn’t have to go twice.
Short version: They didn’t have the part but didn’t tell me until I’d been there 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change I’d added and an open recall (underbody treatment) I’d agreed to only because I thought I was getting it all over with at once.
On top of that, the service writer told me the job would cost $700 when the part came in. Gee, I wonder where dealers get their bad reputations? After I pushed back, he scurried off to a manager and then returned to confirm there would be no charge, but there was never anything close to an apology.
I never went back. I got the part for $27 and installed it myself literally in 20 minutes. If I’d gone back to Nofsinger’s (where they’re always patient with my DIY endeavors), I guarantee it wouldn’t have cost $700. Or $200. They can do way more than you think, and if they can’t, they admit it.”

“So thought wait time would be long it was shorter than expected but all tow companies seem to take long so it was a nice surprise. I did have an officer to talk to to pass the time so that might have helped. Nice young polite man arrived. He tried to jump my old old old car. His cables did not work but he had a enough humility to use mine, after his portable charger did not work as well. Eventually we got it running after about 15 minutes of team work. ha As I was saying thank you and good bye he said do you use Google so I could write a review. I thought how old do you think I am. haha Needless to say my insurance covered the bill and my wife arrived with our van and could have jumped me but it was nice to have a back if that did not pan out.
