“This was a nice place in a room with a nice view of the river and the Blackhawk statue. The staff was really nice and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Rooms: Double queen with a balcony. Mini fridge with no freezer. Microwave but no coffee pot, but coffee is always available in the lobby. Nice deck by the river. You can see the Blackhawk Statue from the river view rooms.

Nearby activities: Awesome restaurants and bars. Many antique stores and just fun stores. Also lots of hiking at the different state parks.”

“The owner was so very great to us! We stayed for 3 months straight. Room was perfect for us because we worked all day and stayed in motel room at night. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Vern and Sara”

“We camped here for 2 nights. We stayed on site 40 there are so many tent/RV sites. The sites are not isolated you are very close to the next site. Some sites are separated by bushes which is nice. Our site did have a creaking tree that scared the daylights out of us. We thought for sure it was one good gust of wind from falling.
There was also lots of earwigs (pincher bugs) they were harmless just everywhere.

There is a resturaunt in the park which was really nice. You're not allowed to bring alcohol into the park but they have a full bar. Which was very nice. The food was good I had the fire pit burger highly recommend. Reservations are suggested on Sundays.

Overall great place to stay the kids loved it.

FYI: There is a train that goes by every night and blows the horn at 1245am really loud and woke everyone up.

Nearby activities: Midway drive-in is a 25 min drive from the park and was absolutely worth it. We haven't been to one in a long time. It was very nice to sit in the bed of the truck and watch a movie under the stars. They have a concession stand too that had very good popcorn and typical movie snacks.

Safety: Felt very safe. Park ranger driving around all hours of the day. Bathrooms were secured with a lock.

Walkability: You can walk everywhere in the park. We drive though saved our sweating for the hiking trails”
