I dye my own hair regularly, however, this time something went wrong and I got “hot roots”. I did not know hot to fix this on my red/brunette hair. I came in and someone from the salon listened to my situation and checked my hair out. She directed me to two separate colors and a 10 developer and explained how to mix by parts correctly when mixing colors and to apply to roots only. She also explained why this would have happened.I went home, did exactly what she said and it came out perfect. I only wish I had gotten her name but I am always terrible at getting names. Super helpful.

I went into ulta tonight looking for a foundation. One of the girls( didn’t catch her name but had orangish pink hair)was super sweet and helped me find a foundation that blended nicely and covered up my pcos. She went over the different types and how to cover it up. She was very patient and helpful

I placed an order for pickup and did all the steps for curbside pickup. I sat outside the store for about fifteen minutes and watched how there were like three people not doing anything and no one brought me my order. I had to go in and get it myself which wouldn’t be an issue but I don’t understand why there is an option for curbside pickup and no one will actually bring it out to you.

My go to store for all of my hair & skin needs! Sydney in Yorkville is always so helpful and always smiling ? She is always knowledgeable with the products, and so far her recommendations have been great! The curbside pick up is easy and convenient! Always no issue IF I have to return product. 5 stars!

Styling team did okay, according to my significant other. She brings me here fairly often and I just follow around as she happily roams. The crew is cool and some of them I find to be fun. Some of the ladies here can be pretty enthusiatic!

This review is for the salon. Specifically for “elite stylist” (or lazy stylist) Arati B. I am extremely upset with how my hair has turned out. Upon making my appt, I told the receptionist on the phone that I wanted my whole head dyed blonde, & she put me down for a full highlight. I’m not very hair savvy, so I didn’t know if that was correct (it was not). The estimate I got for that was $160 (sounded reasonable because that is WAYYYY too cheap lol). I also needed a haircut — about 9” off. On the phone I asked to come in at 1 PM because that’s when I make all my appointments & apparently the receptionist put me down for 1245. So I walked into the salon at 1:03. When I sat down with the stylist, I felt immediately uncomfortable as she didn’t smile, didn’t initiate conversation, & acted distant. So I began to initiate conversation by telling her what I would like. I showed her pics of the haircut & the dye style. She went on to go “ummmmmm” & didn’t speak much at first. I got anxious because I knew she clearly had some kind of issue in so I asked “I’d like this — IF possible.” Arati aggressively snapped “well considering that you’re 20 minutes late, idk if we can do that.” Her tone was so rude that I almost left. But I tried to clarify with her that my appt was at one, & she insisted it was 1245. I apologized several times, I should’ve went with my gut & just left. The dye job that I wanted turned out to be nearly 3 times as much as I was told on the phone (according to Arati & I truly feel that she just didn’t want to do it so she stressed me about how long it takes & talked me out of it). We decided to do money pieces with a halo effect. When it was done, I was happy with it. BUT she insisted several times that it didn’t need to be toned regardless of me telling her I planned on dying it BABY pink. It was very yellow in some spots & brassy in other spots. Now, I may not know a lot about hair, but I do know that toning hair is essential after bleaching, especially if you’re adding color because it could affect said color. I noticed that she anxiously brought up how it didn’t need to be toned several times (at least 3 times without me prompting it). I truly feel that she, an “ELITE” stylist that has been doing hair for 20 years, knew better & just didn’t want to spend anymore time on my hair. After we finished I tipped her 45%, despite her initial rudeness (she did act nicer as the day went on although it was clearly fake & basic customer service). I was willing to look past the initial, rude first impression. So of course, when I went home & dyed my hair, the dye job looks like sh*t afterwards. & I’ve done this exact dye job to myself 2 times before using the same dye, so ik it was not me. There were different colored spots all over. & the part where it was really yellow, wouldn’t hold the dye. What’s crazy is after I had my hair done by her, I walked around Ulta to get some products & I saw her with no customers for the entire hour & a half that I was there. I think she might’ve even left but I’m not sure of that. Was it really necessary to bust my balls about being late when you didn’t even have any customers coming in??? I wish I get that tip money back.

Can do better! Staff is a tad pushy for a sale. The salon is “overbooked” every time even when I call to make an appointment they don’t have availability so whoever the manager is hire more stylist!Cleaning is a must here there is dust on a lot of the shelf’s but the staff is not kind and too pushy to make a sale.
